During the COVID lockdown, Basavaraj watched small-scale farmers in his village struggle because they couldn't access ploughing tools at the right time. Missing this crucial step meant poor soil preparation, weaker crops, and lower yields.

Instead of accepting it as a challenge farmers simply had to live with, he built PloughPro—a manual, budget-friendly ploughing tool designed to make an essential farming process more accessible.

His innovation went on to earn 2nd Place at SPARC 2026, proving that some of the most impactful ideas begin by listening to the people around us.

Siri M.S., a Class 9 student from Bidadi, Karnataka, won SPARC 2026.

That SPARC project later became part of her ISRO YUVIKA application. She got selected, represented Bengaluru, met scientists, learned every day for 15 days, and even shared her experience on live FM radio. 🚀🔬

Her Principal said it best:
“The SPARC program is a base for her.”

A wall socket is something we use every day-but for children, grandparents, and people with disabilities, one accidental touch can have devastating consequences. ⚡

After reading news reports about fatal electric shock accidents, Hemalatha wondered if something as ordinary as a wall socket could be made safer.

Her answer was Safe Socket-a smart electrical safety system that detects a hand or foreign object near a socket and instantly cuts power only to that socket, while keeping the rest of the house running normally.

A simple idea with the potential to prevent life-changing accidents.

At SPARC 2026, Hemalatha showcased her innovation alongside young changemakers from across India, proving that some of the most impactful ideas begin by solving everyday problems. 💡
