The Green Pocket

The Green Pocket Looking to make a difference in your child’s life!?Here is just the way …The Green Pocket!! For all who would like to know more about us and our journey!

" Fun Under the Sun" started 5 summers ago when two friends encouraged me to start a camp to keep our kids busy and productive in their holidays! So the idea was born in the lovely garden of my parents called Sunny Side. The following year and a one and half year old daughter whose keen interest to learn, inspired me to start a "Baby Nest ' program. A quick decision and all it took was 2 months to

get -the place, the logo, the ideas ready and in place ! Using an open area filled with fruit trees close by " The Green Pocket"was born! We are proud to say not a tree was cut! We kept the place as rustic and nature friendly.Along came another 3 children from Golden Enclave who enjoyed their 5 minute pram ride to" The Green Pocket". Soon thru word of mouth and facebook parents got to know about us! The ideas and inspiration for activities came through my Degree and years of experience, one year in a day care in Switzerland, 6 years as a Kindergarten teacher in Bishop Cotton Boys's School and a year in Neev. We have grown and have touched the heart, soul and life of many babies, toddlers and children till date
We have a wonderful team of dedicated staff who follow the ideas , methodology and goals set by me in making our " Baby Nest Program" and "Nursery program" special and unique for our babies. We now provide Daycare too to children, wherein they can stay with us till 6 pm (Mon to Fri). We started a library for children called "Our Story Shelf" where we encourage children to borrow books, attend story telling sessions and various workshops. Our entire collection is online where members can read reviews, post reviews and block their book. We also help to organise Birthday parties over weekends at 'The Green Pocket' and continue with our holidays camps "Fun Under the Sun".

We enjoy hosting Field trips for PrePrimary kids of other schools too.
Our Preschool and Nursery goes on in another part of our space , nothing stops!

The children of the visiting school get to spend 2 hours of meaningful activities and experiences with us.
Happy to curate it to the requirement of the school.

The children of LKG from MSDhoni Global School arrived in their school buses and spent a meaningful morning with us.
After a welcome talk by me ( Ms. Anahita), we had storytelling by our talented Gayathri Ravishankar.
The kids got to experience in batches -
Planting a sapling,
Watering the garden,
Doode on various surfaces things they saw around them,
Observe the dogs and
Feed the rabbits and
Play on the tree machan and sandpit.
The 2 hours of fun ended with a biscuit and juice treat.

Children went home with happy memories.

Happy 80th Independence Day.🤩

May our children live in a country where freedom isnt defined by religion, job, politics, expectations but truly free to make choices, be happy and not judged.

At The Green Pocket we lay the first step of happiness and independence in their lil lives and my wish is that life treats them well.

Jai Hind.

A morning of Pet love ❤️
Today we invited Nezhat Belgamvala who runs PetStepin and Pawz Set Go to talk to our children on caring for their pets. Kids learnt how important it is to love their pet, groom them, keep them clean, feed them and also play with them.
The children brought their soft toys ( pet animals) for the day.
We brought my doggie Ember Trista ♡ from home and from PSI Zeus for an interactive session.
They both were so amazing with the children and allowed the rabbit too to hang around with us.

The kids got a chance to observe and brush the dogs and then each did the same to their toy pet too. They were told how to be gentle and noone was forced to touch the pet unless comfortable.

They gave the the dogs treats and followed up with make believe food to their pet toy too.

Such activities create empathy and also teach kids how to be safe around animals.

Our non-negotiables include a visit to the Dentist ☺️
The Green Pocket believes in a realistic balance to life.
So we celebrate birthdays and festivals ans give kids treats but we advocate good habits and one being oral hygiene.
Every year we have the lovely team of Dr Tooth Little X Small Bites check our children for early signs of cavities, stained teeth or any unusual tooth issue in our babies.
For many of the kids going on the bus was their first time, being at the dentist too. Few resisted but with such a calm n fun environment they all happily got checked. They met the mascot, coloured on sheets, brushed the teeth of a toy ,interacted with the dentist on good n bad ( which we call treats) food and how to take care of their teeth.

The highlight was going to IDC after the dental checkup and eating a snack of idlis, apple n cheeslings.
Our kids make us so proud with their good behaviour and thats what makes it pure joy going out with them.

Learning about Fruits.
We believe in lots of free play but important to teach kids skills of listening and following instructions too.
This activity was fun to watch as I said skills of
Recognition- Names of fruits and colours
Patience- waiting their turn
Observation- watching others
Problem solving- when 2 kids want the same thing and how they can resolve it themself with actions as some just 2yrs old.

A wonderful end to our 3weeks of June2026 Summer camp and
A great start to our Academic year 2026-27.

We took our children to the newly renovated
HAL Museum which is truly done up so well that both children and the staff enjoyed the experience.
Right from real exhibits, to flight simulation, to seeing a hangar and walking through the halls there was so much to explore.

I am definitely going back again to see it all in peace and learn about how the aviation industry grew with HAL.

The children enjoyed a picnic of sandwiches , soya stick, carrot sticks and fruits under trees. There is a park too but there were other students from another school so we didnt indulge in the slides and swings.

This place is a must visit and we highly recomme d parents to visit it again with their children.

Field trip for our June Campers.
Though Preschool and Nursery reopen in June we offer summer holiday fun for kids whose parents like the outdoor experience for their kids.
As part of our camp we take the kids out once a week.
For many of the children it was their first time without their parents and the children totally enjoyed themselves.
The idea was to experience a new environment, play with blocks, have a treat of Idlis, sponge cake n soya sticks and enjoy a drive with friends.
Thank you Troy Building Blocks for creating such a wonderful space here in Indiranagar.
