Georgette, chinon, and chiffon need special handling. Follow these 3 golden rules for a flawless boutique finish:
Rule 1: Use Needle Size 9 or 11 — Standard needles create large punctures and pull delicate threads. Fine needles glide through without snagging.
Rule 2: Set Stitch Length to 1.2 – 1.25 — Longer stitches cause fabric gather and unsightly puckering. Micro-stitches lock the seam flat.
Rule 3: Enclose Raw Edges — Standard open seams will fray instantly. Use an enclosed French seam or clean baby hem to lock raw edges.
