Exactly one year ago, Laya Laasya Cultural Academy had the immense privilege of hosting Karnataka Kalashree Dr. Sathyanarayana Raju Sathya Narayana Raju for Shashti Varna Chakra.
Watching such a legend perform up close was nothing short of a masterclass. While many of us have had the joy of witnessing him present this varna at other venues, his genius lies in how he transforms the stage every single time. With subtle nuances and fresh creative expression, he manages to add something new to every rendition, making it feel brand new each time you watch him.
It was also a moment of immense pride for our academy when our very own Shlaghya Vasista had the honor of singing Toredanenna Pati for him—a beloved Rangageethe so close to his heart—and Karna Athreya had the privilege of accompanying him on the Khanjira.
