Complex problems often have relatively simple solutions. Sustainability can be practised by taking some steps, literally. Calling out billionaires for using private jets needs to be backed by carpooling. Signing a petition to reduce the overall urban footprint needs to be balanced by increasing our real petrol-free footprints. Supporting Greta Thunberg’s large acts of resistance must be followed by your smaller, equally effective efforts to clean up our own cities and bring grassroots change.

At IAGI, we believe in committing to action. Activism against global warming, backed by our individual efforts, has the potential to make the world a more livable, sustainable place. The B.Sc Nursing 3rd Year and GNM 3rd Year students from the Indian Academy School & College of Nursing, under the guidance of Prof. Radha, HOD, Community Health Nursing, conducted a School Health Programme at the Government Primary School, K. Narayanapura.
As part of the initiative, the team conducted comprehensive health assessments for 178 students and five teachers, identifying key health needs and providing referrals for follow-up care.
The day was made lively and educational through engaging activities — a role-play on Dengue prevention, a puppet show on personal hygiene, and an interactive Health Education session. To end on a cheerful note, the team also distributed refreshments to all the children.
This initiative exemplified the IACN and IASN students’ commitment to community health and compassionate service — applying their learning where it matters most: at the heart of the community.
