Samarth Chitta is a 10 year old child podcaster and author from Bengaluru. One of the few child podcasters from India, he started his journey through a Good News show on Youtube when he was 3 years old.

His first book The Talking Walking Tree was published in 2019 and his second book Konnichiwa Izumi: Adventures in 2040 just getting launched at the Indie BookStore Festival, 2022 (https://theindiebookstorefestival.com) where he is also one of the speakers along with other prominent authors & creators including Mr. Ruskin Bond,  Ms. Sonali Bendre, Mr. Andy Griffiths etc. 

Samarth currently does 2 Podcast Shows - his signature show called Kidacity , which has over 85 episodes (weekly show) and Mythbusters in collaboration with Chymes Radio which has more than 25 episodes. His podcasts have been featured in the India Top 10 Kids Learning Category.

Here’s our next in Töölö’s Indian author profile series, where we introduce you to some of the happening children’s authors in our country!

Vaishali Shroff is an award-winning children's author and columnist based in Mumbai. More than 200 of her stories, both fiction and non-fiction, have been published across various books, readers, magazines, newspapers, and online platforms. Many of her works are about challenging and sensitive yet pertinent subjects and act as icebreakers to initiate difficult conversations. She loves to write research-based books, especially related to the environment. 

She wrote The Adventures of Padma and a Blue Dinosaur, which is the first book exclusively on India's dinosaur fossil heritage and won the 2019 Best in Indian Children's Writing (BICW) award in the Environment Tales category.

Yamini Vijayan has worked as a children's book editor and library consultant.
Having spent the last decade trying to actively promote a culture of joyful reading, she hopes to continue working on projects related to children's books and literacy.

She began my career in the features department of one of the oldest and most reputed newspapers in south India. Since then has worked as an editor, a writer, an English language teacher, literacy-promoter and content creator.
