Vishu is a traditional New Year festival celebrated in India usually in April. The festival also includes special prayers, wearing new clothes, lighting lamps, and enjoying a festive meal. Similar New Year festivals are celebrated around the same time in different states, like Puthandu in Tamil Nadu and Baisakhi in Punjab.
