It's not what most people think. ๐
Most parents picture flashcards. Repetitive drills. A child sitting stiffly at a table.
And honestly? That image has done a lot of damage to how ABA therapy is understood.
At Early Autism Ventures, a session looks a lot more like play than it does a classroom. Our amazing team of therapists build every session around what your child is working toward, whether that's learning to communicate, navigating emotions, or building independence in daily routines.
The goals are specific. And the approach? Anything but rigid.
And here's what often surprises parents the most. You're not just waiting outside, but you're actually an active part of it.
What's practiced in the session is designed to carry over into real life, at home, during meals, on the way to school.
That's where the real magic happens.
Every session is also tracked and reviewed, so therapy grows with your child. No guesswork, no plateaus. Just consistent, intentional progress.

If you've ever felt guilty handing your child a screen, this is for you.
The debate around screen time and autism is dominated by fear, but very little fact. And autism parents deserve better than blanket rules that don't account for their child.
Here's what the research actually says โ
๐ง Screens can support learning. For many autistic children, videos and apps are how they process language and make sense of the world. That's not a problem but a learning style.
โ ๏ธ Duration isn't the real concern. Displacement is. Is screen time crowding out sleep, movement, or connection? That's the question worth asking.
๐ Comfort isn't a red flag. If screens help your child regulate and decompress, that's valid.
Not sure where your child's screen habits fall? That's exactly the kind of thing our team at Early Autism Ventures helps families untangle. No guilt, no judgment, just clarity.

And that difference? It changes everything.
When behaviour gets challenging, the instinct is to correct and say "no." But research consistently shows that rewarding the behaviour you want to see is far more effective than punishing the behaviour you don't.
Here's why it works ๐
๐ง It's how the brain learns: When a behaviour is followed by something positive, the brain registers it as worth repeating. That's neuroscience.
โ
It creates clarity, not confusion: Instead of "don't hit," reward moments of calm hands and gentle touch. Show them the way.
๐ช It builds confidence, not fear: Children who are consistently reinforced develop stronger self-esteem and are more likely to try new things.
You don't need special training to start. A high five, a favourite snack, or a genuine "I'm so proud of you" delivered at the right moment is more powerful than any consequence.
At Early Autism Ventures, positive reinforcement is at the heart of everything we do, including ABA, speech, and occupational therapy. This way, you never have to figure it out alone.

Creating the right environment at home can make a world of difference in your childโs behavior.
For children with autism, structure is not about restrictions. It is about clarity, comfort, and confidence. When a child knows what to expect, where things belong, and how their space supports them, anxiety reduces and positive behavior increases.
Start small:
โข Create a consistent daily routine
โข Use visual cues for activities and transitions
โข Designate specific spaces for play, learning, and calming down
โข Reduce sensory overload like noise, clutter, and lighting
โข Keep essential items accessible and organized
A structured environment helps your child feel safe, understood, and in control. That is where real progress begins.
We guide parents in building supportive environments that bring out the best in every child. Want to know more? Visit https://earlyautismventures.in or Call +91 89291 53820.

Your child is overwhelmed. Not misbehaving.
A meltdown isn't a tantrum. It's sensory or emotional overload and your child needs support, not correction.
Here's how to stay calm and help them through it.
Stay regulated first:
Your calm is contagious. Take a breath. Lower your voice. Slow your movements. If you're dysregulated, they can't co-regulate with you.
Reduce the noise:
Dim the lights. Step away from the crowd. Remove what's overwhelming them. Don't add more input like instructions, questions, or eye contact.
Don't reason mid-meltdown:
Their thinking brain is offline. Logic won't land right now. Save the conversation for after they've come down.
Offer presence, not pressure:
Sit nearby. Stay quiet. Let them know you're there without forcing interaction. A gentle "I'm here" goes a long way.
Create a safe anchor:
A familiar toy, a weighted blanket, a preferred song. Sensory anchors can help the nervous system settle faster.
After the storm, reconnect:
Once they're calm, offer comfort. No lectures. No "why did you do that." Just connection.
Meltdowns are hard on everyone. Especially your child. ๐
The more you understand what's happening, the more confident you'll feel. ๐

You don't have to be a therapist to make a difference at home. ๐
ABA therapy isn't just for the clinic. In fact, many of its core techniques are simple, practical, and something you can start using today.
Here are 5 that actually work ๐
1. Positive Reinforcement
Catch your child doing something right and celebrate it immediately. A high five, a favourite snack, or even just an enthusiastic "yes!" โ timely praise builds behaviour faster than you'd think.
2. Task Analysis
Break big tasks into tiny steps. Getting dressed, brushing teeth, packing a bag โ chunk it down and celebrate each step. Small wins add up.
3. First-Then Boards
"First shoes, then iPad." Simple visual structure reduces resistance and helps your child know what to expect. Predictability = calm.
4. Prompting & Fading
Guide your child through a task with physical or verbal cues, then gradually pull back support as they get the hang of it. The goal is independence, not dependence.
5. Natural Environment Teaching (NET)
Turn everyday moments into learning opportunities. Bath time, grocery runs, playtime โ learning doesn't have to look like learning.
The best part? Our team at Early Autism Ventures teaches these techniques directly to parents through our parent training programmes, because your involvement is the most powerful therapy of all.
