🧬 A Milestone in India’s Battle Against Drug-Resistant Infections
We are proud to highlight the development of Nafithromycin, India’s first indigenously developed antibiotic, which comes at a critical time in the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
* Developed by Wockhardt with support from BIRAC (DBT) and launched under the brand name “Miqnaf”.
* Designed for community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP) including resistant pathogens, the regimen is ultra-short and once daily.
For comorbidities like diabetes and cancer, where infections pose serious risks, such innovations are especially meaningful. MLS professionals play a key role: performing culture & sensitivity tests, molecular diagnostics, resistance monitoring, and guiding therapy.
At PIMLT, we encourage our students and graduates to engage deeply with this evolving field — where precision diagnostics meet life-saving therapies.
Together, let’s advance health sciences through lab excellence.

🧬 October 19, 1943 – The Discovery That Saved Millions
In the lab of Selman Waksman at Rutgers University, Ph.D. student Albert Schatz made a historic breakthrough — he isolated Streptomycin, the first antibiotic effective against tuberculosis (TB).
This discovery changed the world. For the first time, a deadly disease like TB had a real cure. Streptomycin also paved the way for other antibiotics such as neomycin and actinomycin, marking the dawn of modern antimicrobial therapy.
🏅 In 1952, Waksman received the Nobel Prize in Medicine, though later controversies highlighted Schatz’s underrecognized role.
Yet, their combined work stands as a testament to the power of teamwork, mentorship, and the curiosity of young scientists.
At Padmashree Institute of Medical Lab Technology, we honor such discoveries that continue to inspire generations of microbiologists and lab scientists to explore, question, and innovate.
💡 Science grows when curiosity meets courage.

🌍 World Trauma Day 2025 | “Prevent. Protect. Prepare.”
Today, we come together to raise awareness about the importance of trauma prevention, emergency preparedness, and rapid response.
Trauma — whether caused by road accidents, natural disasters, or violence — remains a leading cause of death and disability worldwide.
But many of these tragedies are preventable through education, awareness, and timely medical care.
At Padmashree Institute of Medical Lab Technology, we stand with all healthcare professionals dedicated to trauma care.
🧪 Our labs play a vital role in supporting emergency medicine — by providing crucial diagnostics like blood cross-matching, electrolyte balance testing, and critical care monitoring.
💙 This World Trauma Day, let’s pledge to make safety a habit and preparedness a priority.

💉 World Anaesthesia Day – October 16, 2025
Today marks the anniversary of a breakthrough that revolutionized healthcare — the first successful demonstration of ether anesthesia by Dr. William T.G. Morton in 1846.
This discovery transformed surgery from a procedure of pain to one of precision, compassion, and safety. 🩺
At Padmashree Institute of Medical Lab Technology, we join the global medical community in celebrating the progress of anesthesiology, a field built on innovation, vigilance, and science.
🧬 Laboratory science continues to play a crucial role in anesthesia safety — through preoperative diagnostics, blood gas analysis, and monitoring parameters that guide life-saving decisions in the OT.
✨ Together, we honor those who make healing painless and possible.

📚 World Students’ Day – Celebrating the Spirit of Learning
Today marks the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, a visionary scientist, teacher, and leader whose life continues to inspire generations of learners.
🌟 His message remains timeless:
“You have to dream before your dreams can come true.”
At Padmashree Institute of Medical Lab Technology, we celebrate our students — the driving force behind innovation and progress. You are the reason education evolves, and the future brightens.
Let’s remember Dr. Kalam’s words and make learning a lifelong journey of discovery and service.

The 2025 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to
Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell, and Shimon Sakaguchi
for their discoveries concerning peripheral immune tolerance.
✨ Their research helped us understand how the immune system distinguishes friend from foe — protecting us from infections while preventing attacks on our own tissues.
This discovery is monumental for understanding:
✅ Autoimmune diseases like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and Type 1 diabetes
✅ Cancer immunotherapy, where regulating T-cells can fight tumors
✅ Transplant medicine, where immune tolerance prevents organ rejection
At Padmashree Institute of Medical Lab Technology, we applaud how advances in immunology bridge basic science with diagnostics — empowering laboratory professionals to detect immune dysregulation early and guide better patient outcomes.
🔬 Science saves lives — one discovery, one test at a time.

🌍 World Mental Health Day 2025
💚 Theme: Mental Health in Humanitarian Emergencies
Crises — whether natural disasters, conflicts, or pandemics — don’t just harm bodies; they break spirits. One in five people in such situations experiences a mental health condition.
This year, let’s stand together to ensure that mental health support becomes a core part of humanitarian aid.
At Padmashree Institute of Medical Lab Technology, we reaffirm our belief that true healthcare integrates mind and body. Science, compassion, and community-based support must go hand in hand — especially in times of crisis.
🧠 Let’s make mental health a priority in every response, every recovery, and every heart.
