Smiti Montessori House of Children came alive with the festive spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi this morning, as our children arrived dressed in colourful ethnic attire, ready for a very special hands-on celebration.

Tiny hands got busy grating coconut, dry-roasting it, crumbling kalakand, pounding pistachios and mixing all the ingredients together.

Then came the most exciting part—shaping the mixture into perfectly round, delicious laddoos.

Our toddlers joined in too, lending their little hands to the process and carefully garnishing the laddoos with tiny pieces of pista.

Once the ladoos were ready, aunties lovingly packed them for the children to carry home, so that the joy of making and sharing could continue with their families.

At Smiti, festivals become opportunities to learn, create, participate and celebrate together.

Eco-friendly and handcrafted Rakhis offer a meaningful, sustainable twist on tradition by transforming thoughtful materials into symbols of lasting love.

Plantable seed Rakhis give back to nature long after the festival ends, while upcycled brocade cloth designs breathe luxurious, eco-conscious life into the festival.

Our children created art by painting and shaping leftover pistachio shells into bird motifs, while cozy crochet wool Rakhis bring a soft, nostalgic warmth through hand-braided textures.

Grandparents' Day 2026

It is wonderful to see our grandparents come together year after year, participating with such enthusiasm and childlike excitement.

Children had the joy of presenting a special programme for their beloved grandparents, with a blend of skit, song and dance. Every performance was filled with love and every smile from the audience made the children even more confident and excited.

For the grandparents, it was a moment of pride and happiness; for the children, an opportunity to celebrate some of the most special people in their lives.

Our Montessori 3rd Year children embarked on a delightful journey into the history and making of chocolate.They explored the fascinating story of chocolate and learned how it begins with the cocoa tree, from harvesting the cocoa pods and extracting the beans to the various stages involved in transforming them into the delicious chocolate we enjoy.

Taking their learning beyond the classroom, the children visited the Smoor Experience Centre, where they had the opportunity to witness the chocolate-making process in the factory.

The experience became even more exciting with some wonderful hands-on activities—filling chocolate into croissants and creatively decorating cupcakes with icing.

The sweetest part of the experience was receiving chocolate bars from Smoor to take home.

Before stepping into nature, our Montessori first year children were introduced to the concept of Living and Non-Living Things through hands-on classroom experiences.

The learning journey then continued at a nearby park, where they eagerly observed squirrels, birds, anthills, trees, and insects—connecting classroom concepts with the natural world around them.

Sitting together amidst nature, the children collected dry leaves and transformed them into beautiful animal artwork, allowing creativity and imagination to flourish in the very environment that inspired them.
