Scratch

This post contains info about what and how kids will learn using Scratch. If you are interested in a free demo, then connect at +91-8861340011. New batches start in April and May.

What is Scratch?
Scratch is the worldโ€™s largest coding community for children and a coding language with a simple visual interface that allows young people to create digital stories, games, and animations. Scratch promotes computational thinking and problem solving skills; creative teaching and learning; self-expression and collaboration; and equity in computing.

What will the kids learn and how the kids will learn?

Using the 3-step process (learn fundamentals; create programs; and share + improvise), in the 10 sessions, kids will learn the fundamentals of Scratch to make games and animation such as Space Talk, Catch the bus, Find the bug and Silly eyes.

Step 1: Kids will learn Fundamentals including Sprites aka characters, using variables, decision making and loops.

Step 2: Kids will make programs and animations such as Space Talk, Catch the bus, Find the bug and Silly Eyes.

Step 3: Kids will present their creation to friends and instructor; get feedback, improvise and make better versions of their project and get ready for next level.

If you are interested in a free demo, then connect at +91-8861340011. New batches start in April and May.

What is Python?
Python is a high-level programming language like Java, C, C++ and it is the fastest growing programming language. It is popular among first time learners due to its simplicity (easy to learn) and versatility (web development, data science and game development).

What will the kids learn and how the kids will learn?

Using the 3-step process (learn fundamentals; create programs; and share + improvise), in the 10 sessions, kids will learn the fundamentals of Python to make programs such as Rock Paper Scissor, Multiplication Table and have fun with Maths operations.

Step 1: Kids will learn Fundamentals including Variables, taking input from user, Sequencing, decision making, loops and math handling

Step 2: Kids will make games such as Hello World with Maths and Emojis, Rock Paper Scissor, Multiplication Table, Maths Fun โ€“ Sum, Max, Min, Average of numbers

Step 3: Kids will present their creation to friends and instructor; get feedback, improvise and make better versions of their project and get ready for next level

What is Python Turtle?
Python Turtle graphics provides a representation of a physical โ€œturtleโ€ (a little robot with a pen) that draws on screen. Itโ€™s an effective and well-proven way for kids to encounter programming concepts and interaction with software, as it provides instant, visible feedback.

What will the kids learn and how the kids will learn?

Using the 3 step process (learn, create and share), kids will learn the fundamentals of Python Turtle to make creative and interesting shapes such as flags, polygons and funny face.

In the 10 sessions, kids will learn Python Turtle using the 3 step process
Step 1: Learn Fundamentals
Step 2: Create Programs
Step 3: Share and improve

Step 1: Kids will learn Fundamentals including Turtle Character, Handle Colors, Variables, Taking input from user, Decision Making, Loops.

Step 2: Kids will make games such as Flags of the countries, Shapes using Turtle, Snowflake, Funny Face.

Step 3: Kids will present their creation to friends and instructor; get feedback, improvise and make better versions of their project and get ready for next level

Dear Friends,
Our story started during lock-down in Mar 2020, when we started a STEM based online coding club for kids of age 7 to 18 years. Initially it started with 3 kids only from an apartment and till now 250+ kids across US, Canada, UK, Australia and India have benefited from the online coding sessions. Now based on new interest coming from kids and parents, we are starting new batches from April 2024 onwards โ€“ both offline and online.

Vision of the project is to give kids a fun and safe environment for building computational thinking + problem solving and learn skills in their area of interest.
Our Instructors are having 10-20 years practical experience in Industry.

If you are interested, then contact at 8861340011

Congratulations to our Curious Champs : Akshat Malik, Sarvesh Sabarinath and Shoubhik Pal who recently completed NCSS coding challenge with flying colours (400/400).

Info about the coding challenge: The Global NCSS (National Competition Science School) Challenge is unlike any other programming competition. It will teach you how to program as we go along, rather than expecting you to be an expert already. If youโ€™re a seasoned coder, they have something for you too โ€“ the problems range from relatively simple to mind-bendingly hard. It runs for about 5 weeks and they will release notes and problems containing the information you will need to complete the week's programming challenges.
The problems are quite interesting and covers topics related to science, language, maths, history and geography too!
Website: https://groklearning.com/challenge/

Following are competitions starting with no coding experience to kids who are advanced coders).
1. NCSS Challenge (Newbies) -Perfect for young beginners โ€“ Blockly
2. NCSS Challenge (Beginners) - Perfect for beginners of all ages - Blockly/Python
3. NCSS Challenge (Intermediate) - For experienced students, to stretch further
4. NCSS Challenge (Advanced) โ€“ Covers Data structures, Object-Oriented Programming, and recursion

If you are also interested to participate in such competitions in future or if you want to join one of our coding courses (Scratch, Python, Java), then please do reach out to 8861340011.

Cheers
