For the last three years, this trip kept coming up in conversations at Ashoka Shishu Vihara (always planned, but never quite happening).

This year, it did.

We usually keep it simple. A short break, just enough to step away from the routine and reset. But this time, we felt like doing something more!

The last couple of years haven’t been easy for us, but they’ve been important. What we’ve built has come from a lot of consistent effort, problem-solving, showing up every day, and figuring things out together.

We wanted to do something a little bigger, a little more thoughtful, because the people who make this place what it is, deserve that.

We all had a good time together, outside of work, with the same people you usually only see in the middle of a busy day.

And honestly, it was overdue.

An event full of children's art, performances and discussion spaces, 'Namma Art Classroom' was the end-of-year Slam Out Loud school showcase held in Ashoka Shishu Vihara on 28 February '26.

Teachers, parents, students and community members bore witness to the journey of the students part of the SOL program (5-8 grade) from the beginning of the year to now - with walls full of different activities navigating emotional regulation, encouraging imagination, building curiosity and empowering agency in the young and enthusiastic participants.

Music, rap, dance, 3D models, a panel discussion about the board game 'No Fish Left Behind' created collectively by a group of students, questions and engagement with the audience in which our 5th graders took full charge of their creation - it was a delight.

Student Showcase at the Climate Education Conclave by Thicket Tales

At the Climate Education Conclave, students from Ashoka Shishu Vihara presented projects developed through learning experiences facilitated by Thicket Tales. Rooted in place-based and experiential learning, Thicket Tales encourages students to observe their surroundings closely, observe their backyard, and think about how small actions within their school spaces can make a difference.

The 6th-grade students explored the school play area. Through observation walks and mapping activities, they studied how the space was used and identified challenges related to play space and maintenance. They documented their findings through drawings and discussions and shared ideas on how the play area could remain clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

The 7th and 8th-grade students focused on waste segregation in the school. By observing waste generated in different areas, they noticed that materials such as paper, food wrappers, and other waste often ended up mixed together. They discussed why waste segregation is important and suggested simple improvements like labelled bins and awareness among students.

During the showcase, students confidently presented their projects to educators and other stakeholders. They explained their observations, described the process they followed, and thoughtfully responded to questions from participants. Many attendees appreciated the clarity with which the students communicated their ideas and the sense of ownership they showed towards the issues they explored.

Overall, the showcase highlighted how learning experiences designed by Thicket Tales help students connect classroom concepts with real-world situations. By observing and reflecting on their own surroundings, students developed curiosity, critical thinking, and a stronger sense of responsibility towards their environment.

We’re delighted to invite you and your family to our Annual Day celebrations on 10th January 2026, at 5:00 PM, at Makkala Koota.

This evening is a celebration of our children, their learning, creativity, confidence, and the many small and big milestones they’ve achieved over the year. It’s also a moment for us to come together as a school community and reflect on the journey we’re building together.

We warmly welcome parents, alumni, well-wishers, and members of the community to join us for this special evening and share in the joy and pride of our children’s performances and achievements.

We look forward to celebrating together.

Warm regards,

Over the last two weeks, our students and staff enjoyed a wonderful mix of recreational and educational trips, a tradition we’ve proudly continued for years.

From Nursery to Grade 3 exploring Scion Resort, to Grades 4–8 visiting Krishnagiri Dam, the Golden Temple, Jalakanteshwara Temple and the Fort, every experience added joy and curiosity to their learning.

Our students also had an insightful educational visit to BAMUL (KMF Dairy) and Janapada Loka, where they learned about local culture, art, and food production.

Here’s to learning beyond classrooms and creating memories that last! ✨

Our students had a fantastic experience at the Indian Birds Quiz Competition organised by Kids for Tigers at the Jayamahal Palace Exhibition Centre.

They gave their absolute best through multiple rounds of the quiz, learning and growing with every step. The highlight of the day was their visit to the Nature Conservation Foundation stall, where they explored Early Bird resources, discovered unique bird calls, and deepened their connection with nature.

It was a truly enriching day that broadened their knowledge and sparked a greater appreciation for India’s incredible birdlife.

Proud of our young learners!
