Remembering lesser known Heroes of 26/11 Mumbai attack -

1. Mukesh Jadhav : A 23 year old Home Guard earning mere ₹90 per day. He was posted at CST. When Kasab & gang came he guided many passengers to safety.

In saving one passenger he face to face with one terrorist & lost his life.

2. Jillu Yadav - He was a constable of RPF & he took Kasab & Ismail Khan head on. He was armed with outdated .303 rifle & terrorists had 3 AK47 & grenades. He fought bravely & even threw chairs when his rifle jammed to not allow terrorist to cross over to other platform.

3. Vishnu Zende - He is possibly known to some & unknown to others. He was announcer at CST when carnage started. He was fired upon but he kept announcing & informed passenger about terrorist presence. Due to his announcements many lives were saved.

4. Captain Tamil Selvan - He was parcel contractor & suddenly when injured people came at his counter he realised that there was attack at CST.

He & his two staff members evacuated many & saved lives of 36 injured. He is sitting BJP MLA from Sion.

5. Sub-Inspector Bhaskar Kadam - He was the one to intercept Skoda of terrorist & he neutralised Ismail Khan with six shots fired from his gun.

He received ₹75,000 prize & President’s Medal for Gallantry.

6. Inspector Kishor Shinde - When a bag full of RDX was found at Oberoi Trident he quickly took it & placed it at an isolated place. It exploded few minutes later. If not for him many lives would have been lost that day.

There are many more unsung commoners who helped people during this tragedy.

Homage to all bravehearts whether it was police personnel, hotel staff, nurses or common civilians like you & me who went out of their way to save people they never met in their life.

*Former IPS Officer says:-*

I was so upbeat when Shashi Tharoor came into politics in 2009. I still remember talking to so many of my NRI friends on how the politics of India will change for better with highly accomplished people and intelligent people like him joining politics. Then by 2013, I was disillusioned with congress and felt Anna Hazare supported by IITian Kejriwal, IPS Kiran Bedi, great actor Aamir Khan will usher in a new change in India. I even donated to India against corruption, went to Ramlila maidaan to shout slogans

*Now if I look back at it, the only thing I can do is laugh at myself. But I am happy that I realised the biggest flaw in my thinking. The reason we support people like Shashi Tharoor or a Kejriwal is they are well educated. We are brainwashed from childhood that education is equal to goodness*.
*NO, IT IS NOT*.

*Chidambaram is MBA from Harvard and we all know what he did. Mani Shankar Aiyar is from Cambridge - We all know what kind of rubbish he speaks. Kapil Sibal is Harvard Law graduate and all he does is write mercy petitions for terrorists and sells beef*.

*It is not that congress didn’t have highly educated people in the party. There were lots of them but they were all crooks. And a highly educated crook is even more dangerous as he can dupe you in even more innovative ways*.

Everyone from *Islamic invaders to Britishers* were supported by *highly educated and intelligent* Indians. Yes, you need them to lord over the country? So *the rulers of India cultivated a group of crooks who were well read to rule over us and keep us poor. And Chachaji and his family also continued this trend and cultivated a group of highly educated crooks to rule India. Today we call this group as Lootyens as they stay in an area called Lutyens in Delhi and loot us.*

*What is the change that BJP and Modi brought into politics?*

*It made jokers like me realise that IVY LEAGUE DEGREES doesn’t make you a patriot, inculcate honesty or bring goodness.*

*But people who cultivate character, personality on the basis of ethos of Culture and civilisation of India have patriotism and goodness in them*.

*Do this experiment if you don’t believe me:*
*You go into any random RSS Shaka in any part of the country and any time in the year*.

*And see what they teach those students - Patriotism, Service, Goodness, Honesty and Simplicity.*

*It is done every day and all throughout the year.*

*Tell me which Ivy League Univ, IIT, IIM, St Stephens, Doon school or any school where you pay lakhs of rupees as fees teach it?*

*I have been to world’s top Universities, have 6 degrees but no where my education taught me patriotism or goodness*.
*It is my dad who taught me and the books I read written by Swami Vivekananda or the man I idolise Shaheed Bhagat Singh who did this.*

*RSS shakhas do it for all the Sangh goers everyday. Hence people like Modi are so patriotic and honest. I don’t care if he went to school or he has MA or not.*

*A person who reads Swami Vivekanand or goes to a RSS Shaka is any day better than a crook with IIT or Harvard degree.*

*Yes that is what we need to realise.*

*Believe in your own ethos or the goodness of your own country. You will any day be better than believing in those degrees*.

Next year , 2021 is 100 years of Malabar Riots known for massacre of killing lakhs of Malabar Hindus, now bring made into a movie hailing Muslims Heros.

I recollect my friend's granny narrate about how four of her siblings and uncles were skinned and killed by Moplahs in Malabar.

One of the survived man, hid his remaining few women including my friend's granny in a secret house for few days and later smuggled them to safety to central Kerala. Today, these families are settled in Ponnani, Ottapalam & North Parur.

. one of the families from it later came to be named after the incident thus bearing a house name in malayalam "Kozhikott Akathittaveettil" roughly translated as "The family who were hidden in a house in Calicut"

As per my friend's granny, during those hiding days, this Samaritan uncle along with his few men, would safeguard the women at night hiding in the dark above the gate with vessels full of hot boiling oil etc to pour on the blood thirsty mooplahs in case.

It was an ethinic cleansing similar to Kashmiri Pandits in 1990s. Thousands of Hindus who were force converted to Islam. Gandhiji named this mooplah massacre as Khilafath movement.

Today marks the 350th anniversary of 'Battle of Sinhagad'- the near impossible mission led by Tanaji Malusare on February 4, 1670, to capture the fort of Sinhagad (Kondana) near Pune.

The mission was a success, but Tanaji had to make the ultimate sacrifice - today is his 350th Punyatithi.

The impregnable fort of Sinhagad was under Mughal control.

Shivaji Maharaj had entrusted the tough task of capturing it, to Tanaji Malusare.

On the night of Feb 4, 1670 (Magh Vadya Navami), Tanaji and a few hundred 'Mavles' scaled the steep cliffs of Sinhagad.

Tanaji fell during the fierce battle, but the mission was accomplished.

"Gad Aalaa, Pan Sinha Gelaa" (The Fort is captured, but the Lion is dead) - Shivaji Maharaj on learning of Tanaji's sacrifice.

Tanaji's bravery and supreme sacrifice continue to inspire many, to this day.

From Jesuit archives:

In 1507,Portuguese viceroy Almedia asked Jesuits about the place where St. Thomas died, so they could build a church there.

Jesuits declared that St.Thomas was "martyred" on mount of Tirumala (Tirupati) and it was a religious duty to build a church there

A search party comprising of Portuguese soldiers,Jesuit missionaries & Armenian merchants started out for "the holy land of Thomas" and headed towards Tirupati.

It was intercepted by soldiers of Vijayanagara Viranarasimha. A pitched battle ensued and the Portugese were repulsed

There were no "search parties" for the next 10 years.

Then in 1517, another search party got ready. This time, Armenian merchants persuaded a group of Portuguese soldiers returning from Melakka to travel to Mylapore, which was now claimed as the place of St. Thomas Martyrdom
