HMR International school observed a Bagless Day on 7th August 2026 as part of their commitment to providing joyful, experiential, and holistic learning opportunities to their students.
Bagless Day is an initiative encouraged by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The objective of this initiative is to move beyond textbook-based learning and provide students with opportunities to engage in experiential, activity-based, and skill-oriented education. NEP 2020 emphasizes the importance of developing creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, collaboration, communication, and life skills through hands-on experiences that make learning meaningful and enjoyable.
On this special day, students are not required to bring their school bags, textbooks, or notebooks. Instead, they participate in a variety of carefully planned activities such as art and craft, music, storytelling, sports, yoga, STEM challenges, life-skill sessions, games, and other experiential learning activities appropriate to their age and grade level. These activities are designed to nurture curiosity, confidence, teamwork, and a love for learning while reducing academic stress.
We believe that Bagless Day will provide a refreshing and enriching learning experience, enabling our students to explore their interests, discover new talents, and develop essential competencies in a joyful and engaging environment.
It was an energetic and enriching day where learning comes alive beyond textbooks! We look forward to making this Bagless Day a memorable and rewarding one for every student.
