Her birth name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. Her father died when she was eight and she was raised by her mother. Agnes grew up in the Roman Catholic Church and decided to devote her life to God at an early age. At the age of twelve, she felt strongly the call of God. When she turned 18, Agnes joined the Sisters of Loreto to become a missionary to India. In 1931, she took her vows as a nun and chose the name Teresa.
When she was 36 years old, Mother Teresa felt the call from God to help the poor of India.

In 1950, Mother Teresa formed a group within the Catholic Church called the Missionaries of Charity. Mother Teresa received numerous honors and awards during her lifetime including the Nobel Prize for Peace; the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian honor in India; and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States.

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, describes himself as a simple Buddhist monk. He is the spiritual leader of Tibet. He was born on 6 July 1935, to a farming family, in a small hamlet located in Taktser, Amdo, in North-Eastern Tibet. At the age of two, the child, then named Lhamo Dhondup, was recognized as the reincarnation of the previous 13th Dalai Lama, Thubten Gyatso.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is a man of peace. In 1989, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his non-violent struggle for the liberation of Tibet. He has consistently advocated policies of non-violence, even in the face of extreme aggression. He also became the first Nobel Laureate to be recognized for his concern for global environmental problems.

Pichai Sundararajan, better known as Sundar Pichai, is an Indian-American business executive. We know him as the Chief Executive Officer of Alphabet Inc. and its subsidiary Google. An engineering genius known for his innovative ideas, he best known as the mastermind behind the launch of the Chrome browser in 2008. He played a pivotal role in convincing his seniors at Google to launch the browser which in time became the most popular browser on the internet and also led to the launch of the Chrome operating system.

Pichai was a bright student and excelled academically at his school. At an early age Pichai displayed an interest in technology and an extraordinary memory, especially for telephone numbers. He holds a degree in metallurgical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and M.S. and MBA degrees from Stanford University and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania respectively.

Sundar Pichai is also a motivational speaker and has done several motivational events.

Pichai displays a combination of interpersonal and logical intelligence, in addition to strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills.

Ruskin Bond is an award-winning Indian author of British descent, much renowned for his role in promoting children’s literature in India. A prolific writer, he has written over 500 short stories, essays and novels. He is also the author of more than 50 books for children and two volumes of autobiography.

He always loved reading and was especially influenced by the works of T. E. Lawrence, Charles Dickens, Charlotte Bronte and Rudyard Kipling. Soon he turned to writing as well and won several writing competitions in the school including the Irwin Divinity Prize and the Hailey Literature Prize. He wrote one of his first short stories ‘Untouchable’ at the age of 16 in 1951.

After graduating from high school, he went to the U.K. in search of better prospects. While in London he began working on his first novel, ‘The Room on the Roof’. It won the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize (1957), awarded to a British Commonwealth writer under 30. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1999 and Padma Bhushan in 2014.
