The Independence Day celebration at St. Philomena's Public School was a grand and vibrant event, filled with patriotism and enthusiasm. The program commenced with a dignified slow march as the esteemed chief guest, Captain KCP Reddy, was warmly received by the school. The gathering included the chief guest, the school’s secretary, principals, coordinators, teachers, staff, parents, and students, all of whom were welcomed with great respect.
The highlight of the event was the flag hoisting ceremony, conducted by Captain Reddy. Following this, the school houses—Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow—participated in an impressive march past, showcasing their discipline and unity.
The festivities continued with a vibrant welcome dance, setting the tone for the day. The school’s band troop then captivated the audience with a rhythmic march display, showcasing their musical prowess. This was followed by a compelling skit about Queen Abbakka, celebrating her bravery and resistance against colonial rule.
Traditional dance performances representing various states of India followed, celebrating the rich cultural diversity of the nation. The program also featured a speech by students dressed as freedom fighters, bringing to life the words and spirit of those who fought for India's independence.
The event culminated with an awe-inspiring human pyramid, demonstrating the skill, strength, and teamwork of the students. The Independence Day celebration at St. Philomena's Public School was not only a tribute to the nation’s freedom but also a showcase of the students' talents and their deep respect for their country.
