The study aims to examine the effect of social responsibility expenditures on corporate performance of companies in India for the duration of five financial years after mandating CSR for Indian companies as per The Companies Act 2013. The study tries to identify whether the impact of CSR expenditure on corporate performance differs or varies on an industry-to-industry basis.

JAGSoM is thrilled to share that three of its students, Tathagat Tiwari, MUKUND KUMAR THAKUR, and Bishal Kumar Shaw (batch of 2023-2025) have been selected for the prestigious 2024/25 DHL GoTrade GBSN Fellowship Program.

The GoTrade GBSN Fellowship is a unique opportunity for our students to gain invaluable practical experience in international trade. Over the next 12 months, each Fellow will be paired with a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) for consulting, advising, and collaboration. Bishal Kumar Shaw will be working with an from South Africa, Tathagat Tiwari with one from Nigeria, and MUKUND KUMAR THAKUR with one from Namibia.

This study examines the impact of firm characteristics on earnings management (EM) using a sample of listed non-financial firms in India. First, we take a comprehensive perspective to estimate EM focusing on total accruals, current accruals and specific accruals. Second, we examine firm characteristics such as size, leverage, performance, growth opportunities and industry membership that are potentially related to accruals EM.

In this world, everyone is busy with their tasks and priorities. Mukund Kumar Thakur feels that if business school students, like him, start to balance tasks (curriculum and extracurricular activities), the skillset learnt will be immensely helpful in the corporate world.
