We are grateful to all our supporters for making Milan a successful event for the 9th year! Through Milan, we are able to share the impact of the work and challenges faced by our NGO partners and strengthen our relationship with sustained supporters of AID in the DC Metro area. We thank you for choosing to spend September 28th with AID and hope you enjoyed connecting with volunteers and like-minded donors and the inspiring talk by Jayaram Venkatesan. Here is a video of his talk - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orfY1EdWDyc&feature=youtu.be

We thank everyone for their generous contribution towards supporting AID's community-based projects in India. As our volunteer Surekha said at the event, we do not take your support for granted and look forward to earning it every year.

Today is International Rivers Day.
Healthy rivers are critical for all life on our planet. Somnath Mukherji (AID Development Coordinator) talking about the importance of balanced ecosystems, notes: "In villages of Jharkhand in central India, when forests disappeared, rivers disappeared along with them."

We'd like to shine a spotlight on two environmental projects that we support: Matu Jan Sangathan (Uttarakhand) and Center for Research and Advocacy Manipur (Manipur). Both these organizations strive to understand, address and mitigate the tremendous human and ecological impact of large dams in India.
