Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence at Atreyee DAV Public School, Balurghat. The celebration began with a special Hawan, seeking divine blessings for the school community.

The programme was followed by an inspiring speech by our respected Principal Sir, highlighting the noble role of teachers in shaping young minds. A delightful cultural programme presented by the Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members added joy and warmth to the celebration.

A thread may be small, but the bond it represents can be strong enough to bring hearts together.

The young learners of Nursery to Class II enthusiastically participated in a colourful and creative Rakhi Making Activity, filling the school with joy, creativity and the beautiful spirit of togetherness. With their little hands and imaginative minds, our children crafted beautiful Rakhis while understanding the values and emotions associated with this cherished festival.

Raksha Bandhan is more than just a festival; it is a celebration of love, trust, respect and togetherness. The sacred thread of Rakhi symbolises a bond that transcends relationships and reminds us of the importance of standing by one another. It represents unity, brotherhood, harmony and the promise to care for and respect each other.

Through this activity, our little learners experienced the joy of creativity while imbibing the timeless values of love, compassion, friendship, harmony and mutual respect.

🏭 Industrial Visit to Kalyani Solvex Private Limited

Our students had an enriching industrial visit to Kalyani Solvex Private Limited, Gangarampur, gaining valuable first-hand exposure to rice bran oil extraction, refining, automated packaging, quality control, safety, hygiene, storage and logistics.

The interactive session with the plant team also provided students with meaningful insights into career opportunities and entrepreneurial prospects in the agro-industrial sector.

A wonderful learning experience that connected classroom knowledge with real-world industry practices!

Atreyee DAV Public School successfully organised a One-Day Capacity Building Programme on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, creating a meaningful platform for educators to understand the changing landscape of Indian education and their evolving role in the teaching-learning process.

The programme was privileged to have Soumen Roy from Sarada Vidya Mandir, Raiganj, Uttar Dinajpur, and Sanjay Chowdhury from Vivekananda Academy, Betai, Nadia, as the esteemed Resource Persons. Their insightful sessions, engaging discussions and practical perspectives made the programme highly enriching and meaningful for all participating educators.

The National Education Policy 2020 is a transformative framework designed to make education more holistic, flexible, inclusive, experiential, competency-based and learner-centric. It aims to move beyond rote learning and encourage students to develop critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

NEP 2020 holds immense importance for the Indian education system as it seeks to prepare learners for the 21st century, while keeping them connected with Indian values, knowledge traditions and culture. It emphasises Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, experiential learning, skill development, vocational education, multidisciplinary learning, technology integration and competency-based assessment.

For teachers, understanding NEP 2020 is essential because the role of an educator is evolving from being merely a transmitter of knowledge to a facilitator, mentor and learning partner. Teachers need to create classrooms where students explore, question, collaborate and apply their learning to real-life situations.

The implementation of NEP 2020 is an ongoing and evolving process. Changes in curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, teacher training and technology integration are gradually shaping a more flexible and learner-focused education system. Continuous professional development enables teachers to understand these changes and effectively translate the vision of NEP 2020 into classroom practices.
