Joining the Indian Army at the young age of 22, this officer made the ultimate sacrifice while fulfilling his duty to the nation. His courage, dedication to duty, and patriotism remain a source of inspiration for millions of Indians to this day.

● Early Promise and the Call of Duty:

Born on June 29, 1976, in the beautiful hill town of Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, Saurabh Kalia was a brilliant mind from the start. The son of Dr. N. K. Kalia and Smt. Vijaya Kalia, he excelled in academics, eventually earning a bachelor’s degree in medical sciences. Despite a highly lucrative and stable future ahead of him in medicine, his heart belonged to the nation’s defense. It was this specific patrol that officially blew the cover off the massive, clandestine Pakistani intrusion, triggering the full-scale Kargil Conflict.
