Year One of the "Discovering the Buddha Within” Program in Kinnaur

In accordance with the vision of Guru Vajradhara His Holiness Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa to establish the "Discovering the Buddha Within" study and practice curriculum, His Eminence Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche and His Eminence Chungpo Gyalton Rinpoche, together with Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat's senior khenpos, have been skillfully integrating the pith instructions of the lineage with their personal experience to provide comprehensive instructions and guided meditations to devoted practitioners worldwide.
From August 6 to 12, 2026, at the request and under the organization of the Palpung NTC Kinnaur, over the course of seven days the monastic seat's Khenpo Pema taught the first-year module of the "Discovering the Buddha Within" curriculum titled “Inner Peace" at Tashi Thong Yang monastery in Chango, Kinnaur, to an assembly of devoted practitioners from Chango and neighbouring villages. Through clear and accessible explanations, he provided a complete transmission of both the theoretical teachings and meditation practices, complemented by question-and-answer sessions and group discussions.

基諾「開啟內在之佛」第一年學修課程

遵照上師金剛持尊勝的慈尊廣定大司徒巴創設「開啟內在之佛」學修課程之宏願，尊貴的詠給明就仁波切與尊貴的忠波賈敦仁波切，偕同八蚌智慧林法座資深堪布，善巧將傳承竅訣與個人實修體悟融會貫通，為全球具信弟子提供全面系統的教導與引導式禪修。
2026年8月6日至12日，應八蚌NTC基諾爾分會（Palpung NTC Kinnaur）之請與籌辦，本法座堪布貝瑪（Khenpo Pema）於基諾的強果（Chango）的扎西通揚寺（Tashi Thong Yang Monastery）展開為期七天的教學，為來自強果及鄰近村莊的具信大眾講授「開啟內在之佛」學修課程第一年單元「內心寧靜」。堪布透過深入淺出的講解，完整傳授理論教法與禪修實踐，並輔以問答與小組討論。

Mid-Term Examination for the Monastic Seat's Sanskrit Grammar Department

From August 2 to 3, 2026, over the course of two days, the third-year students of the Master of Buddhist Sciences program in the Sanskrit Grammar Department of the University of Buddhist Sciences at the glorious Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat in India took their mid-term examinations in accordance with the Palpung tradition of study. The examinations covered a range of subjects, including poetics based on “The Enchanted Sea of Sarasvati's Melodies”; orthography based on “The Lamp of Speech”; the fivefold rules of sandhi; methods of mantra recitation; and the Sanskrit language.

八蚌智慧林法座梵文文法系舉行期中考試

2026年8月2日至3日，印度榮耀的八蚌智慧林法座的佛學大學梵文文法系佛學碩士班三年級學僧，展開為期兩天的期中考試。本次考試依循八蚌研習傳統舉行，測驗科目涵蓋廣泛，包括以《妙音天女歌醉海》為基礎的詩學、以《語燈論》為基礎的正字法、連音五法、密咒念誦法以及梵文語文。

Monastic Primary School’s Midterm Examination

From July 28 to 30, 2026, the midterm examination at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat’s Riglam Kyetsal Monastic Primary School was carried out under the supervision of the school’s hard-working and caring teachers at the school over three days. Young students sat for written exams on Tibetan language and orthography, as well as written exams on what they had learned over the past semester during classes on English, Hindi, mathematics and basic Buddhism.

僧伽小學舉行期中考試

2026 Rainy Season Retreat Begins

The rainy season retreat, one of the three grounds of completely purifying the Vinaya precepts, which are said to be the basis of all Buddha’s teachings, is being observed each year by the monastic community of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat.
On July 30, 2026, after completing all the necessary arrangements, such as cleaning the temple and preparing the living quarters and personal provisions, the learned khenpos, acharyas and monks of the Palpung Sherabling Monastic College who uphold the Tripitaka began the rainy season retreat by performing the Three Grounds Ritual at its main shrine hall.
Committing to remain within the retreat boundary and to devote themselves to listening, reflection, and meditation for one and a half months, the monks are now diligently engaging in teaching, studies, and practices based on several major sutra and ta**ra treatises.

2026年雨季閉關正式展開

戒律被譽為是一切佛陀教法的根本，而雨季閉關（結夏安居）即是徹底清淨戒律的三事基礎之一。八蚌智慧林法座僧團每年皆謹遵傳統，恪守此項修持。
2026年7月30日，在完成清掃寺院、整理寮房及備妥個人所需資具等各項必要準備後，持守三藏且學識淵博的八蚌智慧林佛學院堪布、阿闍梨及僧眾，在大殿舉行了三事儀軌，正式展開雨季閉關。
僧眾立誓於一個半月內安居於結界之內，傾心專注於聞思修。目前，僧眾正依據數部主要的顯密論典，精進進行教學、研習與修持。

Commemoration of Lord Gampopa’s Mahaparinirvana

Today, July 29, 2026, the monastic community of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat joined Kagyu monasteries across India, Nepal, and Bhutan in commemorating the Mahaparinirvana of Lord Gampopa—the sun-like heart disciple of the Lord of Yogis, Milarepa—via webcast. The ceremony included the recitation of the Gampopa Guru Sadhana, a ganachakra offering, butter-lamp offerings, and traditional “Full Moon” ceremonial music performed on the monastery rooftop.

紀念岡波巴尊者大般涅槃

Tibetan Grammar Symposium in Commemoration of the Omniscient Situ Panchen

In commemoration of the magnificent life and enlightened deeds for the benefit of the teachings and beings by the root of the non-sectarian teachings, the sole refuge of countless beings, the valorous scholar and true mahapandita, the omniscient Situ Panchen Chökyi Jungne, a Tibetan Grammar Symposium was held over two days, July 25 and 26, 2026, at the Monastic College of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat in India. The symposium was attended by the tulkus, lamas, khenpos, and the entire monastic assembly from the monastic seat's various educational departments.
The event opened with the chanting of auspicious verses and a supplication offered with fervent devotion to the omniscient Situ Panchen, followed by the serving of traditional tea and sweet rice to the assembly. The head of the Grammar Department explained the purpose of the gathering, after which the Head Khenpo of the Shedra, together with the principal of the Ta***ic College, the principal of the University of Buddhist Sciences, and the principal of the Monastic Primary School, each delivered remarks related to the theme of the symposium.
Students from the monastic seat's various educational departments then presented talks on the application of particles and cases according to the two principal treatises on Tibetan grammar, an explanation introducing the presentation of self, other, and the three times, the historical development of Tibetan grammatical science, and the resolution of difficult points in "Situ's Great Commentary." An orthography competition was also held among the various classes.
The Head Khenpo of the monastic seat presented prizes to the speakers and to the top performers in the orthography competition, while the head of the Grammar Department delivered the closing remarks together with an account of the extraordinary life of Situ Panchen, the author of "Situ's Great Commentary." Finally, the assembly recited aspiration prayers for the flourishing of the teachings, thus bringing the Tibetan Grammar Symposium in Commemoration of the Omniscient Situ Panchen to an auspicious conclusion.

紀念遍知司徒班千藏文文法研討會

為紀念不分教派教法之根源、無數眾生唯一怙主、無畏學者與真正大班智達、遍知司徒班千秋吉炯涅（Chökyi Jungne）為利益教法與眾生所展現之偉大一生與圓滿聖行，印度八蚌智慧林佛學院（Monastic College of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat）於2026年7月25日及26日，在為期兩天，舉行了一場紀念遍知司徒班千藏文文法研討會。來自寺院各教育部門的祖古、喇嘛、堪布以及全體僧眾出席了本次研討會。
活動以吉祥偈的唱誦和對遍知司徒班千的虔誠祈請拉開序幕，隨後向與會大眾供奉傳統茶點和甜米飯。文法部門主管闡述了此次聚會的宗旨，隨後，佛學院（Shedra）首席堪布與密續學院院長、佛教科學大學校長以及寺院小學（Monastic Primary School）校長，分別就研討會主題發表了講話。
來自寺院各學院的學僧們隨後發表了專題報告，內容涵蓋：依據兩部藏文文法核心論典關於「助詞與格位」之運用、介紹「自他（自性與他性）及三時」之概念、藏文文法學的歷史發展，以及對《司徒大疏》中難點的剖析解答。此外，各班級之間也舉行了正字法（拼寫）競賽。
寺院首席堪布向演講者和正字法比賽的優勝者頒發了獎品，文法部門主管則發表了閉幕詞，並講述了《司徒大疏》作者司徒班千非凡的一生。最後，與會大眾共同誦讀了教法興盛的發願文，至此，紀念遍知司徒班千藏文文法研討會圓滿吉祥地畫上了句號。

The Passing of Mr. Dhongtse Karge

On July 21, 2026, Mr. Karge of the Dhongtse family passed away peacefully at his home in Nepal after receiving every possible medical treatment, healing rituals, and devoted care from his family and all those connected with him. His family has maintained an unbroken connection with Palpung across the generations since Chamgon Kenting Tai Situ Chökyi Jungne established the great monastic seat of Palpung Thubten Chökhor Ling—the Mount of Excellence of the eighteen great academic and practice lineages of sutra and ta**ra and the ten fields of knowledge—through the patronage of the Derge Dharma King Tenpa Tsering, a descendant of Gar Tongtsen, the Dharma minister of the Tibetan emperor Songtsen Gampo.
Throughout his life, the late Mr. Karge rendered whatever service he could for the benefit of the teachings of the practice lineage in general. In particular, from the founding of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat in exile in 1976 onward, he dedicated his entire life, with unwavering faith and devotion, to serving the monastic seat's Dharma activities and Guru Vajradhara His Holiness Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa.
Owing to this bond of unwavering devotion and pure samaya, when Guru Vajradhara recently undertook a Dharma visit to Nepal, he made a special visit to the late Mr. Karge's residence near the sacred Boudhanath Stupa, where he bestowed precious instructions and guidance upon him.
At present, Guru Vajradhara is performing phowa (transference of consciousness) and offering aspiration prayers for the late Mr. Karge, while the monastic community of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat is making offerings and reciting prayers for the pacification of any obstacles that may arise along the stages and paths of his spiritual journey.

東策卡給先生圓寂

2026年7月21日，東策家族的卡給先生（Mr. Karge）在獲得一切可行的醫療照護、療癒法事，以及家人與所有相關親友的悉心照料後，於尼泊爾家中安詳圓寂。

自慈尊廣定大司徒巴秋吉炯涅（Chamgon Kenting Tai Situ Chökyi Jungne）在德格法王滇巴慈仁——吐蕃法王松贊干布之法臣噶爾·東贊（祿東贊）後裔——的護持下，創立八蚌寺（Palpung Thubten Chökhor Ling）這座顯密十八大講修傳承與十明學處之殊勝卓越之峰以來，卡給先生的家族世代與八蚌即保持著不曾間斷的深厚法緣。

卡給先生一生盡己所能，服務與弘揚實修傳承的教法。尤其自1976年八蚌智慧林（Palpung Sherabling）於西藏之外創建以來，他以堅定的信心與虔敬，畢生奉獻於寺院佛法事業，以及上師金剛持尊勝的慈尊廣定大司徒巴。

正因這份不動的虔敬與清淨三昧耶，上師金剛持近期赴尼泊爾弘法時，特別前往卡給先生位於神聖博達拿大佛塔（Boudhanath Stupa）附近的住所，為他開示珍貴的教導與指引。

目前，上師金剛持正為已故的卡給先生修誦破瓦法（phowa）並作祈願；八蚌智慧林僧眾亦同時舉行供養與誦經，祈願息滅他在修證解脫之道上的一切障礙。
