From Kerala to Bahraich – Celebrating Onam at St. Xavier’s
Onam, the cherished festival of Kerala, is not merely a celebration of harvest; it is a celebration of love, togetherness, equality, gratitude and the joy of sharing. This year, the vibrant spirit and rich cultural heritage of Kerala travelled all the way to St. Xavier’s Sr. Sec. School, Bahraich, bringing with it the warmth, colours and traditions of God’s Own Country.
With the gracious presence and wholehearted participation of our Management and Staff, the school came alive with the spirit of Onam. The celebration was a beautiful reflection of how India’s diverse cultures can come together and create something truly meaningful.
The traditional Pookkalam, adorned with vibrant flowers, welcomed everyone with its beauty and symbolised harmony and unity.
The traditional Onam Sadya served on banana leaves became a beautiful expression of Kerala’s culture of hospitality and sharing.
More than a festival, this celebration became a cultural bridge between Kerala and Bahraich — a reminder that while our languages, customs and traditions may be different, the emotions that bind us are universal.
At St. Xavier’s, we believe that education is not confined to classrooms and textbooks. It is also about experiencing cultures, respecting diversity and learning to celebrate one another. Through this Onam celebration, we proudly embraced the richness of Kerala while strengthening the spirit of unity that makes India truly beautiful.
From Kerala to Bahraich, Onam brought hearts together.
From tradition to togetherness, it created memories to cherish.
May the spirit of Onam fill the St. Xavier’s family with peace, prosperity, happiness and harmony, and may the values of sharing, kindness and togetherness continue to guide us throughout the year.
