JB Academy celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The day was marked by inspiring speeches, soulful national songs, energetic performances, thought-provoking drama, plantation activities and a strong spirit of togetherness.
The celebrations began with the ceremonial flag hoisting, followed by the National Anthem. The Scouts and Guides presented a disciplined parade, followed by the distribution of sweets in classrooms.
A significant highlight was the address by School Committee Member Mr. Raman Chandra. Addressing the growing distractions faced by today’s youth, he cited the recent CJP protests as an example of how young minds can sometimes be influenced by fleeting movements. Drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, he urged students to recognise their potential, stay focused on their goals and channel their energy towards constructive pursuits.
The Principal, in her address, emphasised the importance of values, discipline, empathy and good character. She encouraged students to focus not only on success but also on becoming responsible and compassionate human beings, contributing towards a happier and stronger nation.
The National Song Competition showcased students’ creativity through self-written and self-composed patriotic songs, with Nalanda House emerging victorious.
The Junior Dance-Drama Competition brought history and patriotism alive through performances on Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rani Lakshmibai, Subhas Chandra Bose, and Birsa Munda and the tribal heritage of Jharkhand. Ajanta House emerged as the winner.
The programme concluded with the judges’ address and a Vote of Thanks. The celebration left everyone with a renewed sense of pride and a reminder that true independence lies in becoming responsible, value-driven citizens who contribute towards a better India.
