*Training Program for PM POSHAN Cooks-cum-Helpers Held at Education Zone Awantipora; Emphasis Laid on Nutrition and Hygiene*

*A high-impact capacity-building training program for *Cooks-cum-Helpers (CCH) under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM POSHAN)* scheme was successfully conducted today in Zone Avantipora. The initiative was designed to professionalize school kitchen management and ensure the highest standards of food safety for students.
The session was formally inaugurated by the *Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Awantipora, Mr. Mohammad Amin Padar.* In his keynote address, Mr. Padar lauded the dedication of the frontline workers of the PM POSHAN scheme.
The role of a cook in a school setting goes far beyond the kitchen; you are the guardians of our children’s health. Your commitment ensures that every child who enters our gates is nourished and ready to learn," Mr. Padar remarked, sharing words of wisdom on the sanctity of their service.
The core of the training was led by Mr. Aashaq Khanday, a renowned teacher and subject matter expert. Mr. Khanday delivered an exhaustive presentation on the theme, specifically tailored for the needs of Primary and Upper Primary students.
Key areas covered during the deliberation included:
*The Science of Nutrition:* Tailoring meals to meet the age-specific dietary requirements of growing children.
*Cooking Pros and Cons:* An analysis of various cooking methods and how they affect the retention of micronutrients and vitamins.
*Health and Hygiene:* A non-negotiable focus on personal hygiene, clean water usage, and the sanitization of the cooking environment to prevent infections.
*Waste Management:* Practical tips on maintaining a "Zero Waste" kitchen and eco-friendly disposal of kitchen refuse.

The program was meticulously coordinated by *Mr. Riyaz Ahmed Mir,* with significant contributions from Cultural Coordinator *Mr. Mohammed Iqbal Magray.* The coordinators emphasized that such workshops are essential for bridging the gap between policy guidelines and ground-level implementation.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a pledge by the participants to implement the "Health-First" protocols discussed during the session.

In a remarkable stride towards strengthening public education and ensuring universal access to quality schooling, the Worthy Zonal Education Officer Awantipora, Mr. Mohd Amin Padder, today spearheaded a Mega Enrollment Drive that commenced from the campus of UPS Dangerpora and culminated at Higher Secondary School Dadasara.

The route of the drive transformed into a vibrant corridor of awareness, as the ZEO—accompanied by institutional heads, dedicated teachers, and community stakeholders—sensitized the general populace about the wide spectrum of government-sponsored educational incentives, including free uniforms, free textbooks, scholarships, mid-day meals, and zero-fee education.

Throughout the course of this extensive outreach, a substantial number of on-the-spot admissions were successfully recorded, reflecting the resounding impact of the campaign. Notably, UPS MM Dadasara distinguished itself with the highest number of freshly enrolled students, showcasing exemplary mobilization, dedication, and community engagement.
