In India, many are aware about mutual funds. There are other categories of funds too that are less-known.
Some examples are SIFs, hedge funds, venture funds, etc.
One such category of funds is called AIF: Alternative Investment Funds.
These funds are also regulated by SEBI like mutual funds. But their investment structure is very different.
The first step to understanding AIFs is to know that there are 3 kinds of AIFs:
Category I:
These AIFs invest in start ups, small-and-medium enterprises, early stage companies, social ventures, etc.
Category II:
These AIFs also invest in unlisted companies but these can be of a larger size. Many times they invest in companies that are unlisted but headed for IPO. They may also invest in debt funds and bonds of such riskier companies.
Category III:
These AIFs can use very alternative strategies including trading, leveraging, hedging, private equity, etc.

A gentle reminder
Assalamualaikum ,
As we enter the blessed day of Friday, we're reminded of its significance in Islam, as outlined in both the Quran and the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
In Surah Al-Jumu'ah (62:9-10), Allah (SWT) emphasizes the importance of attending the Friday prayer and leaving worldly pursuits for the remembrance of Allah.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said in a Hadees that Friday is the best day among the days of the week and encouraged us to increase our worship and good deeds.
Let's make the most of this blessed day by attending the Friday prayer, reciting Surah Al-Kahf, sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and engaging in acts of charity and kindness towards others.
May Allah (SWT) bless us all on this blessed day of Friday.
Jazakumullah khayran for your attention, and may you have a blessed Friday.
With Dua'as 💜

What is 'Fiscal Deficit'
Definition: The difference between total revenue and total expenditure of the government is termed as fiscal deficit. It is an indication of the total borrowings needed by the government. While calculating the total revenue, borrowings are not included.
Description: The gross fiscal deficit (GFD) is the excess of total expenditure including loans net of recovery over revenue receipts (including external grants) and non-debt capital receipts. The net fiscal deficit is the gross fiscal deficit less net lending of the Central government.
Generally fiscal deficit takes place either due to revenue deficit or a major hike in capital expenditure. Capital expenditure is incurred to create long-term assets such as factories, buildings and other development.
A deficit is usually financed through borrowing from either the central bank of the country or raising money from capital markets by issuing different instruments like treasury bills and bonds.

QUIXOTIC in Context
"Lena Dunham doesn’t care if you love her or hate her; she only cares that she tells a story honestly. When it debuted on HBO in 2012, her stunningly authentic semi-autobiographical show rocked a TV ecosystem that primed audiences to expect a dark comedy about four, white female friends in NYC to deliver a quixotic ... fantasy. Instead, the only fantasies it peddled were the ones that depicted a fresh-out-of-college confessional writer finding literati success despite a dearth of detectable talent." — Daniel Fienberg, Angie Han, and Robyn Bahr, The Hollywood Reporter, 4 Oct. 2023

Theme: market capitalisation
The m-cap of companies keeps changing.
M-cap is directly linked to the share price of a company. And the share price changes when the stock markets are open.
A higher share price does not always mean the m-cap of a company is higher. It depends on the number of shares also.
Example:
Company ABC
Price: Rs 20 per share. Total shares: 2,00,000
Therefore, m-cap = Rs 40,00,000
Company XYZ
Price: Rs 22 per share. Total shares: 1,00,000
Therefore, m-cap = Rs 22,00,000
Company XYZ’s share price is higher. But if we calculate the m-cap, company ABC is actually bigge
