The Glance
Aurangabad (Deccan) is a blessed cradle of Urdu literature, where on one hand, extraordinary poets like Wali and Siraj adorned the tresses of Urdu poetry, and on the other hand, towering figures like the Father of Urdu, Maulvi Abdul Haq, and Shaikh Chand devoted themselves entirely to the service of Urdu language and literature. Among those budding writers who carried forward this rich literary legacy with their contributions and elevated the status of Urdu, Dr. Sahimoddin Khaliloddin Siddiqui is truly commendable.
Dr. Sahimoddin Siddiqui is a bright and promising student whom I have known since his academic days. Under my supervision, he completed his research dissertation titled “A Critical Analysis of Aziz Ahmad’s Short Story Collections: Raqs-e-Na-Tamam and Bekaar Din Bekaar Raatein”, for which he was awarded an M.Phil. degree by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad.
Subsequently, his interest in research took a revolutionary turn, and soon he completed his second Thesis titled “Change of Values in Urdu Novelette” under the guidance of Dr. Ateeq Ahmad Hingolvi, at the same university. For this, he was awarded the prestigious Ph.D. degree.
Dr. Sahimoddin Siddiqui is one of the most respected young scholars and writers in Urdu literature today. His research papers and critical essays are widely appreciated by scholars and connoisseurs alike at both national and international literary conferences.
Recently, he published his first book, "Mayaraat-e-Adab (Volume I)", thoughtfully prepared in line with the National Education Policy 2020, catering to the new curriculum for undergraduate students of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chh. Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad).
Now, his second book, “Mazameen-e-Nau”, is before us. It contains a rich collection of his critical and research-based articles, many of which have been featured in reputed national and international journals and magazines. These writings have already earned recognition among readers from all walks of life.
Hence, no matter how much I congratulate Dr. Sahimoddin Siddiqui, it will always feel inadequate.
May his pen continue to flourish. Ameen.
