General Ability Test (600 Marks)
1) Part A: English: - 200 Marks (50 Questions)
2) Part B: General Knowledge (400 marks) (100 Questions)
a) Physics: (20%) (19-21 Questions)
b) Chemistry: (15%) (14-16% Questions)
c) General Science(10%) (9-11 Questions)
d) History, Freedom movement etc. (20%) (19-21 Questions)
e) Geography (20%) (19-21 Questions)
f) Current Events (10%) (9-10 Questions)

The subjects of the written examination, the time allowed and the maximum marks allotted to each subject will be as follows: -
1) Paper I:- Mathematics: -2.5 Hours- 300 Marks
2) Paper II: - G*T 2.5 (Hours):- English (200 Marks), GK (400 Marks)

SPI Fee structure: -
Boarding Charges: A sum, as decided by the Govt. of Maharashtra from time to time is charged for six months in advance towards the boarding charges and it is required to be paid at the beginning of each term. At present it is Rs. 3000/- per month.
Security Deposit: An amount of Rs 3000 /- (Rs. 1500/- in case of SC/ST candidates) is collected at the time of joining. It will be refunded only if cadet joins any of the Defense Academies at any stage in life.
High School Fees: The high school fees (11th & 12th class) and other charges as decided by the school from time to time, will be paid to the school by the parents/guardians through SPI only.
Cadet Welfare Fund: Apart from these dues and deposits, as mentioned above cadets have to pay additional money for their Kit, Transportation to the school, Training visits, Training Aids, Washerman Charges, News Papers & Periodical charges, School and SPI uniforms, etc.
Penalty Clause: In case a cadet leaves SPI after joining, then the complete fees once paid WILL NOT be refunded. In addition he will be required to pay penalty to be decided later.

SPI: - The Institute provides personalized coaching for UPSC (NDA) written entrance examination. The training and the curriculum at the SPI is formulated in such a way that, they are automatically prepared to appear before the Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews.
