A special assembly was organized by Delhi Public School Asansol to pay homage to the stalwart, Late Shri. Ramesh Prasad Goenka, Founder and Ex Pro-Vice Chairman of Delhi Public School Asansol and Delhi Public School Gandhinagar, Founder of Bholaram Education Society and Symphony Foundation on his 1st Death Anniversary. The fraternity of Delhi Public School Asansol paid floral tribute to our late Pro-Vice Chairman. The students chanted some melodious hymns in his memory. The Principal R. D. Sharma evinced vividly on the contribution of Late Shri. Ramesh Prasad Goenka for the upliftment of society and his love for the young learners. He committed to follow the principles in letter and in spirit laid down by the noble soul. The Academic Coordinator Dipti Ghosh mentioned that he made an everlasting impression on children's heart and soul. Even though he is not with us in his physical form, his presence can be felt through his blessings in our entire endeavour.

Twinkling stars, clear skies, cool wintry breeze and classmates for company - the students of Delhi Public School Asansol had the time of their life as they spent an adventure filled Winter Camp from 21st-25th December 2022 organised by Mountain Lovers’ Association, Asansol at Bero Hills, Purulia. The students enjoyed their independence and time away from home as they were kept gainfully engaged with a variety of fun-filled and supervised adventurous activities. Every day, camp members had to explore an array of adventure sports such as rope/field training, study of rocks and the terrain, theory class regarding rock climbing, brahma bridge walking, river crossing, climbing the summit with rope, map reading, first aid class and other immersive activities. The students participated in all the activities with cheerful enthusiasm. The highlight of the penultimate day of the winter camp was the bon fire set up by the students followed by a gala dinner which truly set the mood for an adventure-filled night. The camp concluded on the morning of December 25, 2022 with a refreshing breakfast. It was a memorable experience for all kids and an event to cherish forever! ‘Camps provide a sound environment for youth to be active,’ commented Principal R. D. Sharma and lauded the tenacity and determination of the students.

CHRISTMAS MAGIC IS IN THE AIR

To spread Christmas cheer.”
Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It’s a time when family and friends come together and remember the good things they have. To spread the message of love and good cheer, the students of Delhi Public School Asansol, presented a spectacular assembly on the occasion of Christmas. The students presented an array of interesting programmes. The school echoed with Christmas carols and holy hymns sung melodiously by the school choir ushering in the festive season. An energetic dance by the students filled the air with an aura of festive spirit. The Nativity scene which is synonymous to Christmas, enraptured the spectators. The children were filled with joy and excitement as Santa came dancing to the tune of Jingle Bells. The special assembly ended with a message from the Principal, Mr R. D. Sharma to the students to spread the essence of Christmas with love and joy of giving. The children carried home the message of sharing and caring as well as the pleasure and pride of spreading peace, true to the spirit of the celebration.

CHRISTMAS DAY

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. His visit is symbolic of goodwill and happiness and it is depicted through the visit of the wise men and the shepherds. Traditions associated with the Christmas are diverse in their origins and nature. Church service plays an important part. Festive activities include exchanging presents and Christmas cards, singing Christmas carols, inviting friends to a Christmas buffet, attending parties and receiving presents from Santa Claus. Christmas teaches us the value of love, benevolence, generosity and sacrifice.

Delhi Public School Asansol conducted On the Spot Competition in its premises on December 19, 2022 to display the talent and artistic skill of the blooming buds of the Pre-Primary Wing. The tiny tots dressed in beautiful and colourful costumes danced gracefully to the beats of the music in perfect synchronization and won the heart of the audience. The teeny weenies sang songs with lot of passion and confidence. Few young learners showcased their skills by confidently reciting poems with proper actions and expressions. The judges complimented the efforts put in by the students. The day ended with a smile on everyone’s face. Principal R. D. Sharma appreciated the efforts of the students for putting in such a splendid performance. The event was a treat for all.

NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY

In India, the National Mathematics Day is observed on December 22 every year. It is celebrated in order to honor the birth anniversary of the famous mathematician Sir Srinivasa Ramanujan. The aim of this celebration is to raise awareness about the importance of Mathematics amongst people for development. This day is celebrated with numerous educational events held at schools and universities throughout the country.
