A Proud Achievement for Asansol Girls’ College!

We are delighted to share that our NSS Programme Officers, Dr. Surajit Jana and Dr. Biswajit Das have received Appreciation Letters from the Regional Directorate of NSS, Kolkata, Government of India, for their valuable contribution to the “NSS Water Mates” initiative under Serve BRICS 2026: Volunteering for a Better Tomorrow, observed on United Nations Public Service Day, 23 June 2026.

Through this impactful initiative, NSS volunteers across 110 NSS Units collectively distributed approximately 18,326 litres of safe drinking water, benefiting 69,346 people during the intense summer heat.

The recognition acknowledges the leadership, motivation and dedicated efforts of our Programme Officers in translating the NSS motto — “Not Me But You” — into meaningful community service.

Heartiest congratulations to Dr. Surajit Jana and Dr. Biswajit Das and our dedicated NSS volunteers for this remarkable contribution to society.

The Department of Economics, Asansol Girls’ College, organised an engaging academic display centred on the theme of MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), showcasing the creativity, research orientation and economic awareness of our students.

Through a vibrant collection of student-prepared posters and presentations, the display explored several important dimensions of the MSME sector, including:

Asansol Girls’ College, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully organised a Special Lecture on “Emerging Opportunities in Agriculture and Entrepreneurship Development” on 21st August 2026 at the College Seminar Hall.
