- मध्य काल में 681 ई. के पश्चात् कई बड़ी अरबी शक्तियों ने अफगानिस्तान को जीतने का प्रयत्न किया परन्तु असफल रहे।
- सीस्तान के लुटेरे एवं साफ्फारी के संस्थापक याकूब इब्त लायथ ने काबुल के हिन्दू शासक क्षत्रिय लगतोरमान को पराजित कर (870 ई. में) हिन्दू शासन की अफगानिस्तान से समाप्ति कर दी।
- अरबों ने सीमान्त प्रदेशों में आक्रमण किया।
