The Yellow House Pre-School Shaping the Future of Our Children
Developing Inspiration, Confidence Creativity & Happiness These areas are connected to one another and are equally important.

At The Yellow House Pre-School we intend to make a Safe and Magical space for our little learners, by incorporating activities into different creative learning and play areas

Formal learning will not feature in the early Pre-Primary curriculum until Reception stage, in the belief that a child will learn these skills more effectively if they have had plenty of time and opportunity to develop socia

lly, emotionally and physically first in a creative, secure, enabling and harmonious environment

Foundation skills in literacy and numeracy will be laid through an environment rich in hands on activity and play and where language and communication are enhanced through creativity

Our Early Years Curriculum strives for a balance between the search for understanding, the acquisition of essential knowledge and skills, the development of positive attitudes and the opportunity for positive action

Our Early Years curriculum is made up of six Areas of Learning and Development. Together they make up the skills, knowledge and experiences appropriate for children as they grow, learn and develop

• Personal Social & Emotional Development
• Communication, Language & Literacy
• Problem Solving, Reasoning & Numeracy
• Knowledge & Understanding of the World
• Creative Development
• Physical Development

Our children engage in six inquiry themes throughout the year. Each year six new Units of Focus are based on the six inquiry themes

These units are designed to enable children to construct knowledge & understanding of the world around them through meaningful and purposeful engagements relating to the child’s own first hand experiences

Throughout the units, the children reflect on their learning, continually constructing and modifying theories and making connections between their learning within the school

• Who we are
• Where we are in place and time
• How we express ourselves
• How the world works
• How we organize ourselves
• Sharing the planet

🃏 Flip it, Make it, Build it!
Learning numbers becomes meaningful when little hands can see, touch, and build! Today our children explored number recognition, counting, one-to-one correspondence, and quantity matching using cards, counters, and cubes.
Hands-on learning + playful exploration = joyful maths! ✨🔢

One Rainy Morning ☔️

Our children immersed themselves in a rainy-day literacy invitation, combining storytelling, science, and early writing. Inspired by our weather provocation and discussions about the water cycle, they observed, explored, and then translated their ideas onto paper through the prompt “One rainy morning…”

This experience encouraged imaginative thinking, vocabulary development, sentence formation, and fine motor control while helping children make meaningful connections between real-world observations and written expression. Through hands-on learning, children discovered that writing is not just about forming letters—it is about sharing ideas, experiences, and wonder. 🌧️✨📖✏️

🌧️🍃 MONSOON CLUB 2026 IS HERE! 🍃🌧️

There is something truly magical about the monsoons in Goa. The earth comes alive, the fields turn lush green, streams begin to flow, and nature becomes the most beautiful classroom.

At Yellow House Preschool’s Monsoon Club, we are embracing this season through a unique Project-Based Learning experience designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love for the outdoors.

Over two exciting weeks, children will explore, discover, create, and learn through hands-on activities inspired by the wonders of the Goan monsoon. From nature explorations and sensory experiences to building, experimenting, creating, and problem-solving, every day will be filled with meaningful learning opportunities.

Our goal is to encourage children to use their hands, minds, and imagination while connecting with the natural world around them. Through outdoor adventures and engaging projects, children will develop confidence, teamwork, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for nature.

Tiny hands stirring flower petals, little voices humming made-up songs, friends gathered around a world built entirely from imagination. 🌸✨

This is the kind of childhood we want to protect.
A childhood filled with wonder, connection, creativity, and the freedom to simply play.

Because sometimes the most important learning happens quietly — around a bowl of “fairy soup” with friends beside you.
