HISTORY OF SRI RAMA
Sri Rama Rural School was established in a rural hamlet, Chilumuru by Sri Late Kolasani Venkata Subbaiah Chowdary in 1949. His vision was to shed the lights of Education in this rural part of Guntur District. Though there was no proper transportation to Chilumuru, his will power and dream to provide education in the rural parts was stro
ng enough in making SriRama a success. In 1961, Sri Late Kolasani Madhusudana Rao took over the responsibility from his father and was at the helm until 2004. Under him, Sri Rama reached new heights of glory and became popular all over the state. Sri Rama has become famous for turning the rustic and mischievous students into performers of excellence. The very fact that thousands of SriRama students have settled down in very good positions in India and abroad, proves the efficacy of SriRama. Sri Rama is now under the leadership of Sri Kolasani Tulasi Vishnu Prasad, Sri Kolasani Ramana and Sri Kolasani Rajasekhar, the successors of Sri Late Madhusudana Rao. Under the guidance of these highly educated and dynamic leaders, the school has ever been achieving more successes. Their innovative ideas, the willingness in implementing them and the strong determination has helped Sri Rama in becoming the Longest Surviving Rural Educational Institution. * Spacious play grounds. A cricket ground is being developed under the auspicious of Andhra Cricket Association as one of its rural sub centres.
* The school is situated in 7 acres and surrounded by 30 acres of fields, students enjoy the serene rural atmosphere. The unique feature of Sri Rama is that the management team lives within the campus so as to be readily available for the students round the clock and also to inculcate family values and the feeling of togetherness in the students. 1. SRI RAMA received VIDYA BANDHU AWARD from freedom fighters at Ambedkar Junior College, Tenali on 10-12-1996.
2. SRIRAMA received VIGNANA SINDHU AWARD from Progressive Writers’ Association of A.P. on 10-8-1996.
3. Sri Late Kolasani Major Madhusudana Rao received LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD from AMBEDKAR YOUTH TRUST on 30-01-1997.
4. Sri Late Kolasani Major Madhusudana Rao received VIDYA DANAKARNA AWARD from Sri Devineni Venkata Ramana, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, A.P., on the occasion of Golden Jubilee Celebration of the College in 1999.
5. SRI RAMA received “THE BEST RURAL EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS AWARD” from Honorable Sri Surjit Singh Barnala, Governor of Andhra Pradesh on 5.11.2003.
6. SRIRAMA received “THE QUALITY ACHIEVEMENT AWARD” from Honorable Sri Rameshwar Thakur, Governor of A.P on 20.7.2007.
7. SRIRAMA received “THE NATIONAL GOLD EDUCATION AWARD” from His Excellence Sri K. Rosaiah, Honorable Governor of Tamil Nadu on 19-11-2011.
8. SRIRAMA is certified with ISO 9000:2000 Certification and later got upgraded to ISO 9000:2008.

20. Sri Rama stood 5th in Nationwide for innovation in “Gardening, Grooming compassion in children” – Micro innovation awards of NISA – Dec, 2020.
21. Received appreciation ward from Haryana Governor in NISA & Federation of Haryana Private Schools Association meeting – Nov, 2021.
22. Selected as Sainik School from the academic year 2022-23 by Ministry of Defence – Jan, 2022. Academic and other Achievements :

• Secured 3 Bronze medals in National Wheel Chair Fencing competition held at Imphal, Manipur in 2018.
• Secured 3rd position in IIT Roorkee Cognizance in Ethical Hacking and cyber security workshop in 2018.
• Secured 22, 10 GPA scores in Inter 2018.
• Secured 3 Gold Medals, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medal in AP State level meet in Fencing.

• Sri Rama was Overall championship in Junior Boys level and runners in Junior girls level in Athletic meet by Reliance Youth Foundation.
