Successful Conduct of Awareness Sessions under Whole School Safety Programme at Govt. High School Poshkeri, Zone Mattan
Anantnag : 21st May, 2026 : Under the Whole School Safety Programme, impactful Awareness Sessions on Child Protection, Mental Health, Substance Abuse Prevention, and Disaster Management were successfully conducted at Govt. High School Poshkeri, Zone Mattan.
During the programme, Mr. Mohammad Akram Rahi, District Cultural Coordinator Anantnag (DNO School Safety), delivered an inspiring and informative presentation emphasizing the importance of child safety, emotional well-being, drug abuse prevention, and disaster preparedness in educational institutions. He highlighted the collective role of teachers, parents, students, and society in building a safe, secure, healthy, and supportive learning environment for every child.
The sessions generated meaningful awareness among students and staff regarding critical social and safety issues, while encouraging responsible behaviour, resilience, preparedness, and positive life values among learners.

Disaster Management Preparedness, Resilience & Response at Govt. High School Buchoo, Bidder, Anantnag
Anantnag: 21st May 2026 : Under the SchoolSafety Programme, the Cultural Education Wing, Chief Education Office Anantnag, successfully conducted a One-Day Awareness Programme on “Disaster Management Preparedness, Resilience & Response” at Govt. High School Buchoo, Bidder, in collaboration with SDRF and Civil Defence Teams Anantnag.
The programme featured interactive sessions on disaster awareness, risk mitigation, evacuation procedures, emergency preparedness, and coordinated response mechanisms, alongside practical demonstrations on First Aid, CPR, and basic rescue techniques.
The live mock drills emerged as the major highlight, providing participants with practical exposure and enhancing their confidence to respond effectively during emergencies.

Anantnag: May 18, 2026 : The Cultural Education Wing of the Chief Education Office Anantnag successfully organized a highly impactful One-Day Awareness Session under the Whole School Safety Programme at Govt. Higher Secondary School Arwani (Bijbehara), Anantnag.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the esteemed Principal of the host institution and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and parents. Review Meeting on VSEK Interventions, Nasha Mukht J&K Abhiyan & Academic performance, held at DIET ANANTNAG
Anantnag: 15 May 2026 : In a significant and result-oriented initiative aimed at strengthening educational governance, enhancing academic accountability, and ensuring effective implementation of flagship educational interventions, an exigent district-level review meeting on Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) in9ǰterventions, the ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, monitoring of academic calendar, and other vital educational activities was convened today at the Training Hall of DIET Anantnag.
The meeting was organized in compliance with the directions of the worthy Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and the instructions issued by the Worthy Director of School Education Kashmir and Project Director Samagra Shiksha J&K for ensuring robust, transparent, and technology-driven monitoring mechanisms across educational institutions of the district.
The session was chaired by Mr. Assadullah Mir, District Educational Planning Officer, Anantnag, who, in his comprehensive keynote address, laid strong emphasis on improving the district’s performance in various VSK indicators and ensuring greater efficiency in digital governance initiatives.
He expressed serious concern regarding the registration and active engagement of teachers on key VSK platforms including Smart Attendance, Samiksha Sahayak, and JK Chat Buddy, and called upon all stakeholders to ensure maximum participation, accountability, and timely compliance at the grassroots level.
Highlighting the transformative role of digital interventions in the education sector, the DEPO stated that technology-enabled governance is the cornerstone for achieving transparency, real-time monitoring, improved learning outcomes, and efficient institutional functioning. He stressed that every stakeholder must work with unwavering dedication, collective responsibility, and mission-mode approach to achieve the desired objectives of these flagship initiatives.
The meeting witnessed the active participation of Zonal Education Officers, Zonal Nodal Officers, members of the District Implementation Committee, and Zonal Cultural Coordinators from all zones of District Anantnag. Detailed deliberations were held on strengthening monitoring systems, streamlining academic processes, ensuring effective implementation of the academic calendar, intensifying awareness activities under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, and improving coordination among field functionaries for achieving measurable educational outcomes.
Participants shared valuable feedback, discussed prevailing challenges, and proposed practical strategies for enhancing institutional performance, ensuring timely data reporting, and fostering a vibrant, disciplined, and student-centric educational environment across the district.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment and collective resolve to work in close coordination for building a technologically empowered, academically progressive, and drug-free educational ecosystem in District Anantnag.
