Review Meeting on VSK Interventions, Nasha Mukht J&K Abhiyan,Academic audit of schools held at DIET Anantnag

An important review meeting regarding the implementation of Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) interventions was organised today by Chief Education Officer Anantnag at the Training Hall of DIET Anantnag under the supervision of the District Educational Planning Officer, Anantnag. The meeting was convened in continuation of the directions issued by the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and the Directorate of School Education Kashmir for strengthening technology-enabled educational governance in schools.
The session was presided over by Mr. Assadullah Mir, District Educational Planning Officer, who, in his keynote address, stressed the need to improve the district’s performance in VSK-related indicators. He expressed concern over the registration and active participation of teachers on various VSK digital platforms, including Smart Attendance, Samiksha Sahayak, and JK Chat Buddy. He urged all stakeholders to ensure wider outreach and effective implementation of these initiatives at the grassroots level.
He also pressed the functionaries to make Nasha Mukht J&K Abhiyan a succes and Academic support to schools a normal.
During the meeting, Mr. Rayees Yaqoob, ADNO VSK Anantnag, gave a comprehensive presentation and live demonstration on the usage and practical benefits of the VSK chatbots. He highlighted the role of these platforms in enhancing student learning outcomes, facilitating academic monitoring, supporting teachers, and promoting data-driven decision-making within the education system.
The meeting was attended by Zonal Education Officers, Zonal Nodal Officers, members of the District Implementation Committee, and Zonal Cultural Coordinators from across the district. Participants actively discussed strategies for improving monitoring mechanisms and strengthening coordination for successful ex*****on of VSK interventions in schools.
The proceedings of the meeting were moderated by Mr. Ruheed Gul, SPOC VSK Anantnag. The session concluded with optimism and a collective commitment from all participants towards achieving improved educational outcomes and taking the district to new heights through effective implementation of digital educational initiatives.

Subject: Brief Visit Report – Arwani Cluster, Bijbehara Zone
With reference to Order No. DIET ANG/73-26 dated 16-04-2026, a team of DIET personnel visited the Arwani Cluster in Bijbehara Zone, beginning with MS Tulkhan. The school was found functioning smoothly, with classes in full swing and a vibrant academic environment.
The team then visited BMS HP Tawaila & GMS Naibasti Arwani, where similar academic engagement was observed. A brief interaction was held with staff focusing on NEP, NCF, HPC, and other relevant academic modules.
Subsequently, the team visited GMS Arwani, accompanied by the Principal HSS Arwani. The visit concluded at HSS Arwani, where the team shared its observations with the Cluster Head, Principal, Mr. Nisar Ahmad Dar & Cluster Academic Monitoring Committee.
The team also appreciated the Learning Management System (LMS) developed at the cluster level by HSS Arwani, which can serve as a model for replication in other clusters....a real success story

DIET Anantnag ( 16/04/2026): The district-level RSBVP 2026 Model Exhibition and Seminar Competition was successfully conducted today, witnessing active participation from more than 50 schools across district Anantnag. The event was coordinated by Dr. Ayaz Bashir and inaugurated by the worthy Principal of DIET Anantnag, Mrs. Rifat Sarosh , who set the tone with an insightful and heartfelt message for the participating students. The overarching theme of the programme was Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat . The event significantly transformed general attitudes toward plastic use, while also highlighting the role of creativity and critical thinking in shaping future development.
Separate expert juries evaluated the model exhibits and seminar presentations based on the selected themes.From the model exhibition category, *07 model* exhibits were selected, while *02 seminar* presentations were shortlisted as finalists.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks that sincerely acknowledged the invaluable contributions of:
Teaching and non-teaching staff for their seamless coordination,
Zonal Education Officers (ZNOs) for their administrative support,
Es**rt teachers for guiding and motivating the participating students,
Creative students for their outstanding exhibits and presentations.
Special mention was made of Dr. Rifat Tabassum, Dr. Mukhtar A. Wani, Mr. Bhasharat Hussain, Mr. Ruheed Gul Baldev, and Mr. Shiraz A. Lone for their active role in the evaluation process and overall conduct of the programme.
The event concluded with the distribution of participation certificates and the announcement of finalists in both categories, who were felicitated with mementos as tokens of appreciation by Worthy principal DIET in the presence of all faculty members.

Review Meeting at DIET Anantnag | 2026
A comprehensive review of DIET Anantnag was conducted today by the Worthy Joint Director, SCERT Kashmir, along with the SCERT team, in the presence of the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Anantnag.
During the meeting, the DIET faculty presented a detailed overview of the institution’s key achievements, innovations, and performance for the academic year 2025–26, reflecting a strong commitment towards strengthening school education in the district.
Highlights from the presentation:
Successful completion of capacity building programmes, national initiatives, and research activities within stipulated timelines
Training of 600 School Nodal Officers on Vidya Pravesh and large-scale orientation of school heads post-PARAKH
Adoption of 7 low-performing schools with focused onsite remedial academic support
Conduct of FLS 2026 and awareness programmes on PRASHAST 2.0, AAGHAZ, ATL & Astro Labs
District-wide enrollment drive, with Anantnag recording the highest enrollment in the division
Extensive health & wellness awareness programmes in collaboration with the Health Department
Restoration and strengthening of ICT labs in schools
The institute also showcased strong performance in training and research, achieving near-target outcomes across multiple programmes, including key action research studies on:
Health & hygiene practices
Vocational education and skill development
School-based assessment (SBA)
NIPUN Bharat implementation
Role of school leadership in creating positive learning environments
A notable best practice highlighted was the innovative model of onsite cluster-based teacher support, where DIET faculty directly engaged with teachers to strengthen understanding of NEP 2020, NCF, FLN, and other critical reforms.
The meeting also reviewed:
Infrastructure development plans for FY 2026–27
Proposed academic support mechanisms through cluster-level interventions
Progress under Mission Karmayogi (iGOT platform)
Institutional challenges including staff shortages, infrastructure gaps, and administrative constraints, along with actionable solutions
The Joint Director appreciated the efforts of DIET Anantnag in achieving substantial progress despite constraints and emphasized the need for sustained academic support, strengthened leadership, and improved infrastructure to further enhance educational outcomes.
The review meeting concluded with a shared commitment to transform DIET Anantnag into a centre of excellence for teacher education and academic support in the region.

With profound gratitude and sincere appreciation, we extend heartfelt thanks to all the rank and file associated with the successful conduct of Foundation Learning Study 2026 in District Anantnag.
We express our deepest gratitude to the PARAKH Ministry of Education for steering this nationally significant initiative aimed at strengthening foundational learning outcomes across the country.

The Foundation Learning Study (FLS)-2026 commenced successfully in District Anantnag in accordance with the guidelines, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures communicated by PARAKH under the Ministry of Education.
The assessment process was conducted smoothly in most of the sampled schools of the district, where school authorities extended full institutional support for the conduct of the study. The sampled schools demonstrated commendable preparedness and cooperation, ensuring that all arrangements were in place for the field investigators and observers.
Children participating in the study were found enthusiastic, confident, and actively engaged throughout the assessment process, reflecting a positive learning environment and growing awareness regarding foundational learning initiatives
The entire exercise was effectively coordinated by PARAKH Cell Anantnag, functioning jointly through the offices of Chief Education Office Anantnag and DIET Anantnag, ensuring adherence to all prescribed procedures and timelines.
Field Observers deputed for monitoring the exercise visited sampled schools and closely supervised the conduct of the study to ensure transparency, reliability, and procedural compliance. In addition, senior district functionaries including the Chief Education Officer Anantnag, District Nodal Officer PARAKH, and District Coordinator personally visited several sampled institutions and extended all possible academic and administrative support for the successful conduct of the study.
PARAKH Cell Anantnag expresses sincere gratitude to the J&K PARAKH Team and PARAKH MoE authorities for their continuous guidance and support in conducting this important national assessment initiative.
This study is expected to generate valuable evidence-based insights for future educational planning, helping identify priority areas for intervention and follow-up strategies aimed at strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy competencies among children. This important national study is aimed at assessing foundational literacy and numeracy levels of children with utmost accuracy, transparency, and academic integrity. Field Investigators are carrying out the assessment with dedication and professionalism in sampled schools across the district.

PARAKH Cell Anantnag (Chief Education Office & DIET Anantnag) successfully conducted a one-day Workshop-cum-Orientation Programme today on 25th of March 2026 at DIET Anantnag for Field Investigators for the conduct of Foundational Learning Study (FLS)–2026 in 31 sampled schools of District Anantnag .
The Foundational Learning Study (FLS) 2026 is a landmark national assessment initiative led by NCERT under the framework of PARAKH to assess foundational literacy and numeracy competencies among Grade 3 learners across the country. Covering more than 100,000 students in 10,000 schools across 36 States and Union Territories, this study marks a significant milestone as it is being conducted through 100% digital tablet-based assessment for the first time in India.
In J&K, the study is being coordinated under the guidance of Directorate of School Education Kashmir , SCERT Jammu and Kashmir and well coordinated by Nodal Officer PARAKH Mr G.H Reshi
The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Education Officer Anantnag. The keynote address was delivered by Mir Assadullah, highlighting the academic significance, national relevance, and sensitivity of the study. Technical and orientation sessions were conducted by Mr. Ruheed Gul, Mr. Javed Hussain Khan, and Mr. Shabir Ahmed Padder (Coordinator JK Attendance), focusing on assessment protocols, field procedures, and digital data collection through tablets.
A major highlight of the programme was the gracious presence of national-level experts from PARAKH Ministry of Education and Dr Nazneen from SCERT J&K, whose guidance enriched the orientation and strengthened the preparedness of field investigators.
Gratitude to PARAKH, Ministry of Education Government of India especially Prof Indrani Bhaduri CEO PARAKH MoE GOI for the mentorship and being the driving force of the programme at National level.
The workshop emphasized that FLS 2026 is not merely an assessment, but a critical evidence-based exercise to understand whether children are acquiring essential reading, writing, and numeracy skills at the foundational stage. Its findings will play a crucial role in shaping future academic interventions, teacher support systems, classroom practices, and policy decisions aligned with the goals of National Education Policy 2020.
The study in sampled schools shall be conducted from 27th to 29th March 2026. The successful implementation of this national study will contribute significantly toward strengthening foundational learning outcomes and ensuring that every child progresses with strong learning foundations for future schooling.

The Chief Education Office Anantnag & District Institute of Education and Training Anantnag, successfully concluded the 1st phase of the 3-Day Capacity Building Programme for Heads of Institutions and Teachers of PM SHRI Schools of Anantnag, held from 10th to 12th March 2026 at SRJ Higher Secondary School Khanabal.
The programme was designed as an intensive academic engagement aimed at strengthening the understanding and implementation of key educational reforms under PM SHRI Schools. Major focus areas included the National Council of Educational Research and Training’s National Curriculum Framework, PM SHRI interventions, and the practical understanding of the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) as envisioned under current school transformation initiatives.
The inaugural session was graced by the District Education Planning Officer, Anantnag, who formally inaugurated the programme and shared inspiring insights on the importance of continuous professional development, innovative pedagogy, and the evolving role of schools in nurturing future-ready learners. His address motivated participants to view educational reforms not merely as policy directions but as meaningful classroom practices.
A distinctive feature of the programme was its highly participative approach, where Heads of Institutions and teachers actively engaged in group discussions, collaborative tasks, and reflective exercises. Participants themselves developed subject-wise activities and rubrics for the Holistic Progress Card, making the training practical, contextual, and directly linked to classroom realities.
The programme also created a platform for sharing experiences, addressing implementation challenges, and collectively exploring ways to strengthen learner-centred education in PM SHRI schools. 📘✨
