Conduct of Elections for School Head Boy and Head Girl at HSS DETHU for the year 2026...

Elections for the nomination of School Head Boy and Head Girl were conducted at HSS DETHU on 30th April 2026.
In this election, Mr Nisar Ahmad Kanth Vice Principal HSS DETHU performed his duty as Chief Election Commissioner who published election notification in consultation with members Mr Mushtaq Ahmad Mir and Mr Abdul Majeed Mir. The commission nominated Mr Nisar Ahmad Hajam as Returning Officer-RO and Mr Mudasir Shafi as Assistant Returning Officer-ARO during the press conference. Both RO and ARO issued forms to the contesting candidates and after the cut-off date and scrutiny, five candidates two girls and three boys submitted their nominations successfully. Contesting candidates did their job well to motivate the voters and presented manifestos on Morning Assembly till the last date. RO and ARO in consultation with Election Commissioner made satisfied and suitable arrangements for smooth conduct of the said elections. Two polling booths were established one for girls and other for boys so as to maintain sanctity of the elections. Mr Ishaq Ahmad Wani and Mr Sajad Hussain Bakshi performed their duties as Presiding Officer along with nominated polling staff engaged for both the booths. Mr Ghulam Hassan Wani was incharge of the security who utilized the services of the NCC students to maintain discipline during the whole process. Mr Mohd Hatam Ganie and Mr Shahnawaz Ahmad Khanday performed duties as observer and micro observer who performed duties diligently. Mr Mohd Shafi Rather Head, Mr Mohd Hatam Ganie, Mr Abdul Aleem Wani, Mr Shahnawaz Ahmad Khanday performed duties as counting staff. Five agents were nominated by the contesting candidates who remained active during the election process. Some students were taken on board by the media to share the experiences regarding the elections. Mr Imtiyaz Ahmad Malik and Mr Mudasir Shafi performed their duties as Media Incharge who captured each and every moment of the event. Physical Education Wing performed duties diligently and left no stone unturned in making the elections successful. Worthy Principal HSS DETHU take stock of every thing and remained on toes during the whole elections. Both male and female staff did a wonderful job in conducting the elections in a free, fair and transparent manner so that students get the practical knowledge. After results were announced by RO Mr Nisar Ahmad Hajam, Mohd Anwar Khan 11th Standard declared as Head Boy and Bushra Yousuf 11th Class declared Head Girl for the year 2026. Winning candidates, other contesting candidates, discipline committee, NCC students, etc were felicitated with appreciation certificates and garlands were presented to both the candidates by Principal HSS DETHU Dr Mushtaq Hussain Wani and Vice Principal Mr Nisar Ahmad Kanth in presence of RO Mr Nisar Ahmad Hajam, ARO Mr Mudasir Shafi, other staff members and the students. It was decided by the school administration that Musaib Ul Hameed and Khushboo Jan shall work as Vice Head Boy and Vice Head Girl in the institution. Dr Mushtaq Hussain Wani Principal HSS DETHU read out the oath and both winning candidates read out the same separately. Chief Election Commissioner presented heartfelt gratitude and thanked all staff members and the students who performed their duties beautifully in making the elections a grand success and hoped that such elections will definitely raise the morale and unity among all the students of the institution. At last, Dr Mushtaq Hussain Wani Principal HSS DETHU expressed vote of thanks to Chief Election Commissioner, members of the commission, Returning Officer-RO and Assistant Returning Officer-ARO, polling staff, counting staff, assistant staff, discipline committee, media cell, NCC students and all other stakeholders who left no stone unturned in conducting the elections smoothly, fairly and transparently.

A School Level Quiz Competition was successfully held at HSS Dethu with enthusiastic participation from students. The event aimed to enhance knowledge, boost confidence, and promote healthy academic competition among learners.
Students showcased their intelligence, quick thinking, and teamwork, making the programme both informative and engaging. Such activities help in the overall development of students and encourage a strong spirit of learning.
The participants were divided into four groups: Group A, Group B, Group C, and Group D. All groups performed exceptionally well and competed with great spirit till the end. After a tough and exciting competition, Group D emerged as the winner.
At the end of the programme, appreciation certificates were distributed among the winners as well as all participants. HSS Dethu continues to promote excellence through quality education and co-curricular activities.
