The Botanical Garden at GDC Dooru houses several threatened medicinal plants like Saussurea costus, Arnebia benthamii, and Podophyllum hexandrum, along with a lavender plot promoting aromatic plant entrepreneurship. It supports research, conservation, sustainability, and practical training in plant management.

GDC Dooru: The Departments of Botany, Zoology, and Environmental Science jointly organized a Green
Campus initiative on 23 April as part of the Earth Day Week celebrations (22–29 April). The
program aimed to promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and active student
participation in ecological conservation.

GDC Dooru: Earth Week 2026 was inaugurated at GDC Dooru under the Bharat Sustainable Campus Mission 2026, promoting sustainability and a zero-plastic drive. Students, faculty, and NSS volunteers took part in competitions and a campus anti-plastic drive, spreading the message of cleaner, greener campuses.

Government Degree College (GDC) Dooru successfully commenced a 10-day training
batch under Mission YUVA, aimed at empowering local youth through skill development and
entrepreneurship. The inaugural session was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Malik
Yasir Ahmad, Assistant Professor of Economics at GDC Dooru, who is serving as the
trainer for this program.
