*MLA Shangus Inaugurates Smart Classroom at Government Higher Secondary School Shangus*
Shangus, Anantnag | September 3, 2026:
Hon’ble MLA Shangus (Anantnag-East), Advocate Reyaz Ahmad Khan, today inaugurated a state-of-the-art Smart Classroom at Government Higher Secondary School Shangus, developed with funds sanctioned from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
On the occasion, the Hon’ble MLA also announced an amount of ₹5 lakh for the further development and improvement of the institution.
A significant highlight of the event was the launch of the official website of Government Higher Secondary School Shangus, making various school services, including admissions, examination-related services and other important information, accessible online. The initiative is aimed at enhancing transparency, accessibility and digital connectivity between the institution, students and parents.
Addressing the gathering, Advocate Reyaz Ahmad Khan, who is himself an alumnus of Government Higher Secondary School Shangus, highlighted the importance of integrating modern technology into education. He emphasized that smart classrooms can make teaching and learning more engaging, interactive and effective, while providing students access to a wider range of digital educational resources.
Principal, Government Higher Secondary School Shangus, Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Wagay, expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble MLA for his continued support towards the institution. He thanked him for sanctioning the Smart Classroom and additional funds for the development of the school, and appreciated his commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure in the constituency.
The programme was attended by Block Medical Officer Shangus, Dr. Javid Hassan; ZEPO Shangus, Mrs. Anjum Maqbool; President Auqaf Islamia Shangus, Mr. Abdul Rehman Sofi, besides staff members and other dignitaries.
The school administration expressed hope that the newly inaugurated Smart Classroom, along with the launch of the school website, will further strengthen the institution’s efforts towards providing modern, technology-enabled and student-centric education.
