WHOLE SCHOOL SAFETY PROGRAMME
BUILDING SAFER SCHOOLS
Awareness Session Held at Govt. High School Kandiwara, Zone Bidder
Anantnag : September 1, 2026, The Cultural Education Wing, Chief Education Office, Anantnag, organised a focused Whole School Safety Programme Awareness Session at Govt. High School Kandiwara, Zone Bidder, reaffirming its unwavering commitment towards creating safe, inclusive, resilient and child-friendly learning environments.
Facilitated by Mr. Mohammad Akram, DNO, Whole School Safety Programme, the session sensitised students and teachers on critical dimensions of school safety, including:
🔹 Child Protection & Safeguarding
🔹 Online & Cyber Safety
🔹 Mental Health & Emotional Well-being
🔹 Disaster Preparedness & Response
🔹 Drug Abuse Prevention
🔹 Adolescent Behavioural Management
Through interactive learning, practical demonstrations and real-life scenarios, participants were encouraged to recognise potential risks, respond responsibly and make informed and positive choices.
Particular emphasis was laid on healthy lifestyles, avoiding junk food, responsible use of mobile phones, cyber hygiene, personal safety and staying firmly away from substance abuse.
The programme reinforced a vital message:
“School safety is not merely about responding to danger; it is about creating a culture of prevention, preparedness, protection, empathy and responsibility.”
Students were inspired to become aware, confident, compassionate and resilient young citizens, capable of protecting themselves and supporting the safety and well-being of others.
The session concluded with a collective pledge to uphold safety, discipline, dignity, respect and social responsibility, further strengthening the vision of schools where:

EVERY MIND IS EMPOWERED.
