GD Goenka Public School, Anantnag, was proud to host the thrilling 3-Day Inter-Battalion Basketball Tournament in our school premises, organized by the CRPF 46 BN.
​The event saw 8 competitive teams showcasing incredible skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship over three action-packed days. The entire tournament went incredibly well and was a resounding success!
The tournament concluded with a grand Award Ceremony where the players and winning teams were honored with medals and trophies for their outstanding performances.

*Splash & Scoop Day – A Day of Fun, Laughter, and Refreshment*

Splash & Scoop Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 11th June 2026 at G.D. Goenka Public School, Anantnag. The event was a delightful blend of excitement, laughter, and unforgettable memories for the young learners from Nursery to Grade II.

The school campus came alive with cheerful smiles as students enjoyed thrilling water activities, especially the water slide, which became the highlight of the day. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as children splashed, played, and bonded with their friends.

Adding to the festive spirit were a variety of refreshing treats, including smoothies, mojitos, popcorn, ice creams, and other delicious refreshments. The students thoroughly enjoyed these delightful offerings, making the day even more special.

The event provided a perfect opportunity for children to relax, socialize, and create cherished memories in a safe and joyful environment. Splash & Scoop Day was truly a grand success, leaving everyone with happy hearts and radiant smiles.

World Environment Day Celebration 2026

GD Goenka Public School, Anantnag celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2026 with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment towards promoting environmental awareness and sustainable living among students.

A variety of age-appropriate activities were organized for students across different grade levels to encourage responsible environmental practices and healthy lifestyle choices. The young learners were introduced to the concept of a Healthy Food Plate, emphasizing the importance of balanced nutrition and the inclusion of fresh fruits and vegetables in their daily diet. Interactive discussions and activities highlighted the significance of healthy eating habits and their role in maintaining overall well-being.

Students also explored the concept of Sustainable Food Systems, learning how mindful food choices can contribute to a healthier planet. Through engaging classroom activities, they gained valuable insights into reducing food waste, conserving natural resources, and adopting eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.

Special awareness sessions were conducted on important environmental practices such as Reducing Waste, Saving Energy, and Conserving Water. Students were encouraged to adopt simple yet effective habits that help protect the environment and promote sustainability.

In addition, students were sensitized to the growing issue of electronic waste (e-waste). They learned about the harmful effects of improper disposal of electronic devices and the importance of responsible e-waste management through reducing, reusing, repairing, and recycling electronic products. The sessions helped students understand how small actions can make a significant difference in protecting the environment from pollution and conserving valuable resources.

The celebration served as a meaningful platform to instill environmental consciousness in young minds and reinforce the importance of adopting healthy and sustainable practices. Through these initiatives, G.D. Planetarium & VR Learning Experience at G.D. Goenka Public School, Anantnag

On 3rd and 4th June 2026 (Wednesday and Thursday), G.D. Goenka Public School, Anantnag, organized an engaging and immersive Planetarium and Virtual Reality (VR) Show for students from Nursery to Grade IX.
The specially curated, age-appropriate planetarium sessions took students on a fascinating journey through the universe, introducing them to planets, stars, galaxies, and other celestial wonders. Through captivating visuals and interactive presentations, learners gained a deeper understanding of space while nurturing their curiosity and love for science.
Complementing the planetarium experience was an exciting 12D Virtual Reality (VR) setup, which allowed students to embark on a breathtaking adventure beneath the ocean's surface. The immersive VR experience provided a realistic glimpse into the underwater world, enabling students to explore marine life and oceanic environments in a fun and memorable way.
The two-day event successfully combined learning with innovation, offering students a unique opportunity to explore both outer space and the depths of the ocean through cutting-edge technology. The enthusiasm and excitement displayed by the students reflected the success of the programme and its impact on experiential learning.

G.D. Goenka Public School, Anantnag proudly conducted the Inter-House Table Tennis Tournament 2026 on 22-05-2026 with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The tournament witnessed active participation from students of Grades 4 to 9, who displayed remarkable talent, determination, and competitive spirit throughout the event.

In the boys’ category, Usman Riyaz of Grade 6 Green from Hope House emerged victorious and secured the Winner’s title after an exciting final match. Imad Ud Din Shah of Grade 7 Red from Peace House showcased exceptional performance and secured the Runner-up position.

In the girls’ category, Arooba Parvaiz of Grade 7 Red from Harmony House claimed the Winner’s title with her outstanding gameplay, while Mahruk Fatima of Grade 8 Red from Peace House secured the Runner-up position.

The winners and runners-up were felicitated with Gold and Silver Medals by our esteemed Principal Ma’am, Ms. Asiya Murtaza. Her encouraging words motivated the students to continue striving for excellence both in academics and sports.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement, cheers, and joyful celebrations as students wholeheartedly enjoyed the event. The tournament not only promoted healthy competition and teamwork but also encouraged students to develop confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The recent school picnic to the breathtaking valley of Pahalgam turned out to be an incredible, memory-filled getaway for our students of Grades 3 to 9 at GD Goenka Public School, Anantnag!
​It was a day filled with non-stop laughter, pure joy, and high spirits. Away from the classroom routine, our young Goenkans thoroughly immersed themselves in nature—exploring lush green meadows, playing energetic games, and bonding beautifully with their peers and teachers.
​Seeing the sheer delight on the children's faces as they created lifelong memories together was truly heartwarming.
​The trip exceeded all expectations, perfectly rejuvenating our students! A huge thank you to our dedicated management, teachers, and staff whose careful supervision and planning ensured a safe, joyful, and seamless adventure for everyone.
