A simple game like Mikado teaches many mathematical skills. At a session in Silvassa, teachers became students. It is a regular observation now that the teachers at various places enjoy playing mathematical games and also explanation using different approaches. We as educators, need to understand that the students will definitely appreciate it.

The concept of ones and tens is a very important and fundamental concept to understand the number system. Use of Abacus while explaining it proves to be helpful. The abacus should be held correctly such that what is one's for the teacher is one's for the students also and not the reverse. Teachers need to stand facing the board for this.
Teaching aids help in better understanding of basic concepts, but their use needs to be done in a careful manner.

Board games can be very commonly used to inculcate various skills among the students. As the games progress, the students think deep, plan and learn to take decision.
At Concept Math Solutions, we usually enjoy playing Othello, Hoppers,Hasami Shogi and stick game,to name a few.
Board games played at home with the children,will help in reducing the problems related to excessive use of technology. Of course it is one of the best way to use time in a constructive manner.
