In the pre-establishment period of the school, almost every year the village Mahishamuri was flooded. The rising flood water engulfed the crops of the field, fish of the pond, roads and even the last trace of shelter. The little boys and girls could not go to the school in the remote area. At that time the number of educated people in this village was very few. Aditya Kumar Maji was the main perso

n who comes forward with his entire endeavor and enthusiasm for the pujas, cultural functions, games and sports of this village. In his leadership the distinguished persons of this village and surrounding areas held a meeting for taking steps about higher education after primary education. Everybody who was present in that meeting was agreed for setting up a high school. The name ‘Mahishmuri Ramkrishna Vidyapith’ was selected unanimously. At last with all the willing co-operation, efforts, endeavor and enthusiasm the school began to cast its footprint on 14th January, 1971.
