World War II ended in 1945, when Germany surrendered in May and Japan perished in August, just days after the powerful new atomic bombs exploded over Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

A 1650 map of Russia by Willem and Jan Blaeu. The name of this map was Tabula Russiae Blaeu. This map remained the standard model for maps of Russia for more than fifty years.
To create this map, Hessel Gerritsz used a map published in 1614. Hessel Gerritsz was an apprentice of Willem and Jan Blaeu. Hessel Gerritsz obtained the original source map for this map from the Dutch merchant Isaac Massa.

World War I was a global war that began in Europe. It lasted from July 28, 1914 to November 11, 1918. It is also known as the Great War or the 'war to end all wars'. It was one of the largest and deadliest wars in history.

The Russo-Ukrainian War began in February 2014. Following Ukraine's Revolution of Dignity, Russia occupied and annexed Crimea from Ukraine and supported pro-Russian separatists fighting the Ukrainian military in the Donbas War. These first eight years of conflict also included naval incidents and cyberwarfare.

Hamas is a Palestinian armed group and political movement in the Gaza Strip. On 7 October 2023, it launched an offensive against Israel
The attack left about 1,200 people dead and more than 250 taken hostage. This triggered an Israeli military offensive in Gaza, killing thousands of Palestinians. Hamas continues to fire rockets at Israel.

California is a state located on the west coast of the United States. It is the most populous state in the United States and the third largest state in terms of area after Alaska and Texas. California is bordered by Oregon to the north and Mexico to the south. The capital of California is Sacramento. This state accounts for 14 percent of the economy of the United States. If California were an independent country, its GDP would be 6th in the world and the population would be 35th. English is the official language of the state, which is spoken as a mother tongue by about 57% of the population. Spanish is spoken by 29%, Chinese by 2%, and Tagalog by 2%. Los Angeles is the largest city.
