Under respected Dr. AP Singh ‘s visionary leadership, Department of hosted conference on Teaching & Learning Anatomy Using Advanced Technology on 23rd May 2026. This event brought together a remarkable lineup of speakers, including Dr. Hitant Vohra, Head of the Anatomy Department at ; Dr. Gaurav Agnihotri, Professor of Anatomy at ; Dr. Rajan Sharma, Associate Professor in the Orthopaedic Department at SGRDIMSR, Amritsar; and Dr. Vanita Gupta, Head of the Anatomy Department at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi IME in Kakryal, J&K. These experts shared invaluable insights into the transformative potential of technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), the metaverse, and interactive 3D models. Their insights highlighted how these innovative tools can enhance educational experiences, making complex anatomical concepts more accessible and engaging for students, ultimately transforming the landscape of medical education. The conference was further distinguished by the presence of the honourable Vice Chancellor of SGRDUHS, Dr. Manjit Singh Uppal, and the respected observer, Dr. BS Bajwa, who presented certificates to the winners of the poster and model-making competitions. Under the able guidance of Dr. A.P Singh, Dean, SGRDUHS and Dr. Manjit Singh Uppal, Vice Chancellor, SGRDUHS, Department of Dermatology hosted a CME on 'Vitiligo - Recent Updates' at Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Sri Amritsar. Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Professor & Head, Department of Dermatology, alongside a panel of esteemed Skin specialists from various parts of India, shared over 25 years of combined expertise in the field. Attendees gained valuable insights into the latest advancements and treatment strategies for managing vitiligo. Dr. Anupama Mahajan, Director Principal of SGRDIMSR, commended the organizing chairperson and the entire team for their exceptional efforts in orchestrating such a valuable CME, highlighting the importance of continuous education in advancing dermatological care.

Priyasha Gupta, a student of MBBS Final Prof at Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Sri Amritsar, bagged 2nd Position and a cash prize in the Poster presentation category for her research.

🔥 Fire Safety Week 2026 🔥
Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Sri Amritsar, actively participated in the Nationwide Fire Safety Week observed from 4th May to 10th May 2026, under the leadership of Dr. AP Singh, Dean, SGRDUHS, and Dr. Anupama Mahajan, Director Principal. Dr Sahiba Kukreja HOD Dept of Biochemistry , Dr Manpreet Kaur Principal SGRD College of Nursing and Dr Paramjot Bindra judged poster and slogans made by students.
As part of the initiative, various fire safety awareness and preparedness activities were organized within the medical college premises by Dr. Harjot Singh and Dr. Paramjot Bindra. The activities focused on promoting awareness regarding fire prevention, emergency response, evacuation procedures, and safety measures in critical healthcare areas.
The programme emphasized the importance of preparedness in healthcare institutions to ensure the safety of patients, healthcare workers, students, and hospital infrastructure.
