The resolution at Bombay underlined the need for the establishment of the English Medium Public School to meet the challenges of fast growing knowledge and linguistic equipment. Chief Khalsa Diwan was founded in 1902 with the futuristic vision for the social and cultural development of the community in accordance with the best Sikh traditions. The torch was kept burning by many visionaries through various stages of its growth. The efforts put in by the Diwan pulled the community out of the vagaries of the history. The Diwan played a historic role in making Punjabi a language of literary expression and of education. The establishment of an English medium public school was a new dream. When established, it soon developed into a well organized centre of value-oriented education with an enlightened approach to the teaching of Sikh history, Religion and Punjabi Language. With professional emphasis on various disciplines of formal education, the school has made its long-cherished dream of being on the top, come true. The school from its humble beginning has now developed into a sprawling complex with a staff of 170 teachers and 4500 students. At present the fascinating features of the school building include 123 fully furnished, well-lighted and ventilated classrooms, five well equipped science laboratories, five computer centres with internet facilities, three music rooms, a gymnasium, two state of the art Auditoriums, a toy library, one well furnished Conference Hall and well equipped Maths Lab.
