The Department of Radiodiagnosis, GMC Amritsar hosted an enlightening guest lecture on “Breast Imaging” on 22nd March 2025, led by Dr. Poonam Ohri, Professor & Head of the Department.

The session featured the esteemed Dr. Sandeep Ghai, a Breast Radiologist from University Health Network - Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, who shared her invaluable insights on diagnosing breast lesions through a case-based approach. Mr Gaurav Haans cardiac technologist from GMC Amritsar presented rare case of Percutaneous closure of RPA to LA fistula at SPCIT conference held at Goa from 29th November to 1st December 2024 and bagged first position among all cases category .

MRU GMC AMRITSAR participated in the "3-day Regional Workshop on Research Methodology" organized by DHR(GOVT OF INDIA) collaboration with ICMR-CCOE-CMC LUDHIANA. DR IPS GROVER, DR JASPREET SIINGH, DR HARSIMRAT SINGH WARAICH, DR AMARBIRPAL SINGH, represented GMC Amritsar and presented their proposals. Other participating MRU's were from GMC Jammu, GMC Srinagar, SKIMS Srinagar. Dr IPS Grover, Nodal Oficer, MRU ASR presented a research proposal which one the prize for one of the Best Proposals at the workshop.

Day 6 of AMR awareness week celebration concluded with Interdepartmental PG quiz conducted in the department of microbiology. Total 30 PG residents participated in this quiz.There were four winners i.e. first prize was won by Dr Prabhjot Kaur from obs and gynae department second prize shared by Dr Ram Ratan Sharma from chest and TB and Dr Ankita Singh from Microbiology Department. Third prize won by Dr Gaurav trehan from pediatrics.Certificate were handed to the winners by the Professor and head Microbiology, Dr Loveena Oberoi. Hereby this week long celebrations ended on a positive note and we hope that this has inspired all of us to take collective action and forge a stronger commitment toward combating anti microbial resistance.We thank all those involved in making this event a huge success.

Day 4 of Antimicrobial resistance Awareness week celebration kicked off and how! With energy filled rally flagged by our esteemed Director principal Dr Rajiv Devgan,Head of Department of Microbiology Dr Loveena Oberoi and other dignitaries. Active participation of faculties from various departments, Resident doctors and undergraduate students made this awareness rally a huge success.Rally was followed by short skit regarding antimicrobial resistance awareness performed by students.
