With the number of vehicles that we see on the roads today, there is an increasing need for skilled people who can fix and maintain these machines. Over the past decade, the Automotive Industry was responsible for incremental employment creation of around 25 million jobs. According to the Automotive Mission Plan, it would create an additional of 65 million jobs in the coming decade. On the contrar

y, Census 2011 states that 47 million people in the age group of 15 - 24 are unemployed in India. Most of the jobs in the Indian Automotive Industry involve acquiring specialist skills, and confer to the person sufficient technical and soft skills to progress professionally within and outside the automotive sector. The need of the hour is a workforce in this sector that has skills training and sufficient practical knowledge of the entire gamut of auto retail including sales, customer care, service etc

Aadharshila

Aadharshila (foundation stone in Hindi) is one such initiative of J.S Fourwheel Motors Pvt Ltd. that aims to address this skill vacuum and prepare a cohort of skilled and professional workforce in the auto retail sector. Aadharshila is a skilling school for youth between the age group of 18 - 30 years to make them employable in the auto retail industry and make a living for themselves.

The youth walking out of Aadharshila would be quality professionals who are productive from day one in whichever organization they join. The centre would initially focus on four specific courses, namely - Sales consultant, technician, denter and painter. Later it will scale it up to cover most profiles required in the auto retail sector. Objectives

• Develop a cadre of skilled professionals for the auto retail industry who are characterised by quality, productivity, and commitment

• Motivate learners realise their potential, build career paths and take ownership of their professional growth.

• Maintain a pipeline of skilled work force to fuel the qualitative growth of auto retail industry.

• To position the auto retail sector as an aspirational career option for youth in the region.

• To develop a model skilling school which specifically automobile dealers can replicate.
