The Ph.D. viva voce of Mr. Atul Gurtu was conducted in offline mode for his thesis entitled “Effectiveness of Mobile Learning in Science Teaching with Reference to Social Intelligence and Achievement.”

The viva voce was conducted by Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Professor and Former Head and Dean, Faculty of Education, University of Lucknow, as the External Examiner, and Prof. Saroj Yadav, as the Internal Examiner.

Prof. P. K. Sahoo, Former Vice Chancellor, University of Allahabad, Prof. Dhananjai Yadav, Director, Faculty Recruitment Cell, University of Allahabad; Prof. Akanksha Singh, University of Lucknow; faculty members; and research scholars of the University of Allahabad were also present on the occasion.

Department of Education, University of Allahabad Launches ITEP (B.A. B.Ed.)

The Department of Education, University of Allahabad, is all set to commence the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) – B.A. B.Ed. from the current academic session. This significant achievement has been made possible through the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sangita Srivastava, and the sincere and dedicated efforts of Prof. Dhananjai Yadav.

A Coordination Committee meeting regarding the implementation of ITEP was held today under the chairmanship of Prof. Anuradha Agarwal, Dean, Faculty of Arts. The meeting was attended by the Heads of the Departments of Geography, Economics, Ancient History, Political Science, Medieval and Modern History, Sanskrit, Hindi and English, along with all faculty members of the Department of Education.

Prof. Dhananjai Yadav warmly welcomed the guests and faculty members and elaborated on the strategies and mechanisms required for effective coordination among the various departments involved in the implementation of ITEP. Vote of thanks were delivered by Dr. Saroj Yadav.

The meeting marked an important step towards ensuring smooth and effective implementation of the B.A. B.Ed. programme through interdepartmental collaboration and coordinated efforts.

Very happy to share that Prof. Dhananjai Yadav, Director, UGC–Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC) and former Head, Department of Education, University of Allahabad, has proposed the institution of the “Pratap Memorial Gold Medal for ITEP” in loving memory of his beloved father, (Late) Sri Pratap Singh Yadav, M.Sc. (Agriculture), Botany, 1963 batch, a proud alumnus of this prestigious institution.

Prof. Dhananjai Yadav has also assured that all necessary formalities for the implementation of the Gold Medal will be duly completed.

The Pratap Memorial Gold Medal will be awarded to the Topper of the ITEP (B.A. B.Ed.) programme. This noble initiative will not only honour the memory of Late Sri Pratap Singh Yadav but also serve as a source of inspiration and motivation for the learners enrolled in this innovative teacher education programme.

The Gold Medal is expected to encourage academic excellence and a healthy competitive spirit among the students and inspire them to strive for higher achievements in the field of teacher education.

This thoughtful and commendable initiative by Prof. Dhananjai Yadav is indeed a matter of great pride for the Department of Education, University of Allahabad.
