Spectacular Performance by a Student of G.H.S. in an International art festival for Almaty, Kazakhastan – The UNESCO memorable date
Purna Srivastava of G.H.S. & College has made the city proud by her outstanding performance in an international art festival ‘’Children are Painting the World, Asia’’.
Purna Srivastava, to the joy of the G.H.S. family has been adjudged first among hundreds of entries and twenty shortlisted ones. The results were more welcome as the competition was tough and very intense. The winners are invited to participate in the interactive training and workshop on arts, culture of peace, tolerance and global citizenship education to be held in Almaty, Kazakhastan dedicated to the 1000th Anniversary of Almaty City- the UNESCO memorable date.
It is a testimony to the vision of the dynamic Principal, Rev. Dr. (Mrs.) V. Eusebius that girls of G.H.S. & College are excelling in national and now international events too, due to the conducive and nurturing environment provided for talent development of its meritorious students. It is an honour for the city of Allahabad and hopefully for the nation to have artists of such calibre in Girls’ High School and College.

Girls’ High School & College Allahabad is indeed one of the premier educational institutions in the country and under the dynamic leadership of our visionary and workaholic Principal Rev. Dr. (Mrs.) V. Eusebius it is progressing by leaps and bounds. .
It is noteworthy to mention that on the initiative of the Principal, a Pre- nursery section has been added to the school this year and keeping pace with the growing advances in technology and teaching innovative, the E-learning techniques have been implemented in the school. Health camps & summer camps are smoothly and successfully run in the school. A no-plastic eco-friendly environment in the school campus is an emerging asset for the institution Solar lights have been installed and the students are learning to be Eco-committed. Yoga and physical training are a part of the daily routine.
Commendable achievement are: the air-conditioned nursery classes, Auditoriums and Hostel which now provide an enhanced comfortable learning environment for students.The staff rooms have been renovated and are fully air-conditioned and all facilities-hot/cold water, refrigerator, tea/coffee dispensing machines have been installed. In view of the fact that women can make a career in the armed forces of our country, The Principal has once again displayed a high degree of intelligence and foresight in introducing the NCC. The school also boasts of producing National Level Swimmers,
To bring out hidden potential of the students, evening classes/ coaching is arranged free of cost for Basket Ball, Volley Ball and Instrumental music, GHS & College is the only girls institution that in Allahabad has an all girl Music Band.
The strength in the hostel and school has tremendously increased in the recent past. A beautiful Chapel in the school premises has been constructed. Also a school bus has been purchased.
It is a matter of great pride to mention that on the academic front also our school marches ahead with flying colours; The pass % in ICSE and ISC was 100% with the scores:

Annual Junior Sports and P.T. Display

The Junior annual athletic meet and P.T. display of Girls’ High School & College was held on 20th November, 2015. The programme commenced with a formal prayer dance followed by the welcome of the Chief Guest Mr. Ajay Kumar Singh Vice Chairman, Allahabad Development Authority by the Principal Rev. Dr.(Mrs.) Vinita Eusebius. The Head girl Roushi Khan lit the sports flame and took the oath on behalf of all the athletes, following which the chief guest declared the annual sports meet “open” this was followed by the opening ceremony comprising of the formation marching by the students carrying the flag of the college colours. The Chief Guest took the salute. The pre-primary section presented various items which won the hearts of the audience by their innocence and zest for life. The action songs of class nursery and K.G. had the tiny tots unabashedly dancing away. The colourful fancy races were appreciated by all. It was a treat to watch the little ones of Prep put up a colourful P.T. display. The loudest cheering came from the stands for flat and relay races by classes 3, 4 & 5

The mass P.T. by the students of class 3, 4 & 5 was a show of ultimate perfection and accuracy which was followed by the splendid pyramid presented by class 2, 3, 4 and 5.

After the prize distribution the Chief Guest Mr. Ajay Kumar Singh congratulated and appreciated the management, staff and students for organizing this event He stressed on the fact that a good institution plays a vital role in the development of a students personality and inculcates, the spirit of honesty, discipline and hard work in him.

G.H.S. and college put up a stupendous performance in ‘Alfresco-2015’ and ‘Josephest-2015’, outshining girls of all other girls institution participating in these events. G.H.S. & College bagged the 1st runners up trophy in both these Inter Institutional festivals. It was a laudable achievement, more so, when institutions, from as far as Mirzapur and Rihandnagar, were participating in the aforesaid events and there were nine institutions in all.

The success of the students can be attributed to the conducive environment provided in the school under the able leadership of Principal Rev. Dr. (Mrs.) Vinita Eusebius and the diligence and support of the teachers.
