As a tribute to the founder Dr. Sam Higginbottom, who through his sincere services, hard work and dedication has contributed greatly towards enhancing the agriculture production in our Country, a proposal was submitted to Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, New Delhi to re-christened Allahabad Agricultural Institute-Deemed University as “Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences”. In view of the above, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. F.13-7/2008-U.3.A, dated September 22, 2009 has permitted Re-Christening of the Allahabad Agricultural Institute-Deemed University as: “SAM HIGGINBOTTOM INSTITUTE OF AGRICULTURE, TECHNOLOGY & SCIENCES” (Formerly Allahabad Agricultural Institute), (Deemed-to-be-University). n 2016, after considering the adequate availability of teaching / non-teaching staff and other essential infrastructure facilities in the Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences - Deemed University(SHIATS), Allahabad, the Uttar Pradesh Legislature decided to upgrade, reconstitute and establish SHIATS as a full-fledged University under the State Act so as to ensure successive development of Agricultural Education, Research, Extension, Science, Technology and other disciplines in the State. The Uttar Pradesh Legislature was pleased to pass the Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology And Sciences, Uttar Pradesh Bill of 2016, and Hon'ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh very kindly gave his assent on the Bill on 27th December, 2016, thus, the SHUATS Act No. 35 of 2016 was published on 27th December, 2016. Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology And Sciences, Uttar Pradesh Act, 2016 has been notified in the official Gazette vide Notification No. 1867/79-V-1-16-1(ka)36-2016 dated December 27, 2016.Vide Notification No. 2473/67-KSA-2016-900(2)/2010, dated December 29, 2016, Hon'ble Governor, Uttar Pradesh was pleased to appoint December 29, 2016 as the date on which the aforesaid Act would come into force. The Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology And Sciences (SHUATS) is striving to acquire a place in the arena of International science and technology while holding a pioneering status in India. The University offers fourty-two (42) undergraduate programmes, hundred and one (101) postgraduate programmes, sixteen (16) diploma programmes and doctoral programe in various disciplines.

🌾 REMEMBERING A VISIONARY WHO SHAPED THE LEGACY OF SHUATS

On the 48th Death Anniversary of Prof. Mason Vaugh (27 June 1894 – 7 October 1978), the SHUATS family and the agricultural engineering community pay their heartfelt and humble tribute to a pioneering educator whose vision continues to live through generations.

Prof. Mason Vaugh holds a historic place in the legacy of the Allahabad Agricultural Institute—today’s Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS), Prayagraj.

In 1942, under his pioneering vision, the first degree programme in Agricultural Engineering in Asia was started at the Allahabad Agricultural Institute. This landmark initiative laid the foundation for a tradition of excellence in Agricultural Engineering education at SHUATS, which continues to inspire and serve the nation today.

From that historic beginning to the present, the journey of Agricultural Engineering at SHUATS stands as a living tribute to Prof. Vaugh’s foresight, dedication and pioneering spirit.

His vision became a legacy.
His legacy became an institution.
And that legacy continues at SHUATS. 🌾🎓

On this solemn occasion, we remember with gratitude the remarkable contribution of Prof. Mason Vaugh — a pioneer, an educator, and a foundational figure in Agricultural Engineering education in India.

SHUATS में “नशा मुक्त युवा फॉर विकसित भारत” हेल्थ वॉक/रन का आयोजन

प्रयागराज, 1 अक्टूबर 2026:
सैम हिगिनबॉटम कृषि, प्रौद्योगिकी एवं विज्ञान विश्वविद्यालय (SHUATS) के शारीरिक शिक्षा विभाग एवं एथलेटिक्स कमेटी द्वारा “नशा मुक्त युवा फॉर विकसित भारत – 100 संडे संकल्प अभियान” के तहत एक भव्य हेल्थ वॉक/रन का आयोजन किया गया।
यह अभियान FICCI द्वारा MY Bharat और युवा एवं खेल मंत्रालय के सहयोग से आयोजित हुआ।
मुख्य बातें:
आरंभ: प्रशासनिक भवन से शुरू होकर विभिन्न विभागों, फुटबॉल ग्राउंड और एनिमल हसबैंड्री मोड़ से होते हुए पुनः प्रशासनिक भवन पर समाप्त हुआ।

उद्देश्य: युवाओं को नशा-मुक्त जीवनशैली के प्रति जागरूक करना और विकसित भारत के निर्माण में उनकी भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करना।

नेतृत्व: माननीय कुलपति प्रो. (डॉ.) इंजी. जोनाथन ए. लाल के मार्गदर्शन और रजिस्ट्रार प्रो. (डॉ.) सी. जे. वेस्ले एवं विभाग प्रमुख श्री आशीष मैसी के नेतृत्व में कार्यक्रम संपन्न हुआ।

सहभागिता: विश्वविद्यालय के शिक्षकों, अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों और बड़ी संख्या में छात्र-छात्राओं ने उत्साहपूर्वक हिस्सा लिया।

यह आयोजन स्वस्थ, सक्रिय और नशा-मुक्त समाज के निर्माण की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम रहा।

प्रसार निदेशालय, शुआट्स द्वारा “सब मिशन ऑन एग्रीकल्चर एक्सटेंशन (आत्मा) योजनान्तर्गत” आयोजित पाँच दिवसीय कृषक प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम का समापन अत्यंत सफल रहा। इस प्रेरणादायी आयोजन की मुख्य विशेषताएँ:

🌟 गरिमामयी उपस्थिति:
मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में माननीय कुलपति प्रो. (डॉ.) जोनाथन ए. लाल एवं विशिष्ट अतिथि के रूप में प्रथम महिला व निदेशक (एचआरएम एण्ड आर व कैम्पस मिनिस्ट्री) डॉ. श्रीमती अभिलाषा जे. लाल की प्रेरणादायी उपस्थिति।
