वायु — वायुमंडल में पाई जाने वाली गैसों के बहाव को वायु कहते हैं।
वायु हमेशा उच्च दाब से निम्न दाब की ओर बहती हैं। या निम्न ताप वाले स्थान से उच्च ताप वाले स्थान की तरफ।
वायु की गति दाबांतर पर आधारित होती हैं इस दाबांतर को दाब प्रवणता बल (PGF) कहते है ।
PGF- pressure gradient force
PGF का मान ज्यादा तो वायु की गति भी ज्यादा होती है।
PGF का मान काम तो वायु की गति का मान भी कम होता है।
